They wanted superiority... not equality... Those damn uppity folks would get it on over on us poor white people, and would end up makign the rules, and taking over. ( I bet they shit themselves with Obama) I am so sick of these morons. Equal rights is a right... not an opinion. We were just discussing this in class. sighs Any one who has actually studied the bible knows that the distruction of Soddom and Gomorrah was not because of the buggery... or the sex. It was Because they would not welcome in strangers. The angels in disguise. Very few good people lived there, so they were saved, and the wicked were distroyed. Why is it that the ignorant herds always use this example? They are the ones now who do not welcome in the strangers. Damn fustrating. Gwyn

Well unfortunatly they most likely wont vote him out. "Last year, the NAACP called for Buttars to resign after comments he made on the Senate floor about a complex school-funding bill, saying, "This baby is black . . . It's a dark, ugly thing." But Buttars kept his seat and won re-election in November. " We are talking UT. He was a bishop in the LDS church, and worked hard to get gay mormons excommunicated. I wish civil rights, and equal rights were not a matter of opinion.... I wish it was a given. all created equal, and deserving of equal rights. With blokes like this mucking about it makes it all the harder to get to the point where equal rights are a given. Gwyn

I don't live in Utah, so I really don't care. I'm not a Mormon, so I don't care if they excommunicate every homosexual in the congregation. You don't have a right to be a member of a church, and you don't have a right to silence speech you don't agree with. If this pisses you off, than move to Utah and campaign against him.

Buttars is routinely the source of bigoted comments and downright loopy legislation. His constituents apparently support this. I would strongly recommend that all kinkroids avoid West Jordan Utah.

Hey, folks, I lived in the greater SLC area for six years. Ogden and SLC (which West Jordan is essentially a suburb of) are as liberal and accepting as Utah gets. Go to American Fork, Spanish Fork, or Orem/Provo and see how conservative Utah can REALLY be.

I have been and as is clear from recent events it is still the same place it was when I was last there. And I won't be back and won't spend any money in Utah as long as the state's junior senator is an ex gulag commandant and as long as people like Buttars are running the state house.

Singles bars! You're probably right given that his comments and opinions are possibly fuelled by a fascination about getting a boner up the rear end. They might dress it up with Biblical references, but this is most often the basis for their opinions. However when taking into consideration that most in the LGBT community have the emotional support of at least one heterosexual in their lives, many heterosexuals don't have an issue with seeing that equal rights, acceptance and understanding is a necessity irrespective of one's orientation.
