What's the most extreme thing you have eaten or do eat---no fantasies allowed Me? All kinds of sushi fish, eggs etc Scrapple, head cheese Blood Boudin Head cheese Beef face, tongue, tail Hearts, gizzards to name a few, You?

Alpaca stew and also cuy in Peru (that's guinea pig) silk worm larvae and bo sin tang (dog soup) in Korea I don't know that food is really "extreme". It's about what is normal in the place you are. In India, for example, all these burgers would be "extreme". well wishes,

The thing I can eat only if I don't think about it is beef tongue. If I start thinking about it... there's cow tongue in my mouth, and I'm touching it with my tongue... yeah, well, it starts getting weird. Cali (who is somewhat amused that THIS is the thing that gets her weirded out if her tongue touches it)

Sweetbreads - grew up eating those. Brawn - what you call 'head cheese' I once ate 'Menudo' (I think that's what tripe is called in hispanic cuisine) and enjoyed it until i found out what it was. I'm a coward when it comes to food. I once fainted at a turkish friend's family's dinner when I was guest of honour. The father brought out a casserole dish and took the lid off only to reveal a dozen or so chicken heads all lined up, complete with beaks/eyes, etc... he decided to show me how to eat one, he picked it up, cracked open the beak and sucked hard. I fainted.

As a teenager, I bought a selection of chocolate-covered insects at a novelty shop and sampled a few. As I recall, I tried a chcocolate-covered bumble bee and a chocolate-covered ant. At another point in my life, I was on this diet that required me to have raw dessicated liver in tomato juice and brewers yeast in warm water. I had to hold my nose to be able to drink either. Needless to say, that diet didn't last very long.

During several trips to China we had a variety of local delicacies including: pig brains, duck tongues, pig blood, lungs, esophagus, tendons, hearts. We had dog once, but had to order a day in advance. We also had this thing that must have been some kind of tofu grilled on a hibachi. We called it "wallet on a stick." I've also had capybara, tapir and anaconda while in South America. On a dare, I once ate a hot dog with a cigar on it. The worst thing I've ever had was chitterlings, although they taste better with more hot sauce on them. Actually they just taste more like hot sauce then. yours

Is it legit to admit that I think offal is awful? Kidneys I will never, ever try. And that's a result of reading James Joyce and his description of the tang of urine on the air while the kidneys cooked. Makes me ill even to think about it.

I remember a story My Mom used to tell, ( before I came along) she would try to cook anything for My Dad--he wanted to try kidneys once--she couldnt' stop throwing up, they never got finished and the house wreaked for weeks! I've tried alot of things, but nope nope nope not kidneys, nope.

i used to eat tongue sandwiches all the time with my german grandmother when i was a kid. i'll just stick to spicy pork rinds and kfc gravy now, thank you very much.

During wilderness survival training I ate snake and cactus it was actually pretty good.

On both occassions I didn't know what it is until I actually ate/drank it as otherwise I would have never ever tried it as I HATE sweetcorn...but as I drunk the juice from the red sweetcorn over there I loved it...(thank goodness I didn't know before). Same regarding those roots....which were prepared like pommes but simply tasted differently...despite that I am not someone who eats easily something offensive as I am fairly picky-ish in regards to food lol

I am always willing to give anything a try and general even if its not my favorite thing I at least try Calf fries...(Bull's balls) Loved those Gizzards of poultry Livers of poultry and beef. Most any and all sushi Escargot (snails) To die for Oysters. Raised my now grown kids to always at least try and they found out that what may see or feel doesnt always means it is gross thing to eat.

Escargots for me, too. And, the old tried-and-true favorite, peanut butter, Miracle Whip and dill pickle sandwich. Yum! [:)] Thought of another....that doesn't seem extreme to me, but other peoples' reactions tell me it must be....I put ketchup on sauerkraut and scrambled eggs.

Ketchup on sauer kraut and scrambled eggs, you'd fit in perfectly in the UK, we put ketchup on just about anything. Something I wanted to ask you about though ... escargots. What do they taste like, as one would expect from something that leaves a slimy trail behind it, or completely different? Also, snails have a spikey tongue, so I'm wondering... okay, now I'm getting weird. Just tell me how snails taste and what their texture is like as I would like to try them in the future [:D]

Bear Mountain Lion Snake Aileen's Bisciotti Muskrat The creatures, and many others I can't remember, were consumed at a Beast Feast at a dive bar in NE Pa. They used to have it once a year in February. Any of you Pocono folks happen to know the name of the place?
