Id like to get one, a means of celebration of sorts--I know its subjective, but how bad did it hurt, how long to heal and any opinions, thoughts, booboos?

It hurt like hell, in fact, for me, it was the worst of my piercings. Healing was absolutely no problem, though, and I have had it now for nearly 10 years without any complaints.

when I had mine done it was just a moment of ouch (not even OUCH!!).  I'd had a hoop put in, so what REALLLLLY hurt was about an hour or so later when, as I was brushing my hair, the brush caught on the hoop.

Thus the reason I stick with nostril screws now.

When at school was told about the story of someone who had a chain joining his earring and his nose ring. Easy target for someone that didn't like him because he ended up with two slits rather than two holes by all accounts. Part of me thinks these stories are made up but then I understand the sadistic nature of humans so perhaps not.

When I had mine done, the lady who did it sat me down and gave me a tissue.  She said, you will need it.
She pierced and everything was cool for about 10 seconds and then - my eye just streammed and it automatically winked shut.  For about 30 seconds I could not open it, but then, I didn't want to. And I just held the tissue to my eye until it stopped watering.

It wasn't so much 'pain' but more a really hard whincing on one side.  Healing was not an issue with regular warm salt water bathing.  It was a stud and I converted to a ring after a month or so and could change it without issue to whatever I liked.  I use studs occassionally but the ring is my favourite.

This thread makes my eyes water.  I love the look of tiny nose piercings, but I'm too much of a wimp to ever consider it.  I had an upper ear cartlidge piercing go bad (even though I took extreme care of it, I had to end up having it lanced in order to heal it) many years ago and swore of all piercings at that point.

I just had my nose pierced about 2 mos. ago in a local tattoo parlor.    It does intially hurt, as the needle goes through, your eyes water ALOT, but then the pain goes away. Try not to catch it on a blanket, etc. That stings...ouch! Just follow the instructions given to you, keeping it clean,etc.. and you should be fine.
Cheers,
Di

Thanks MM, quick question what did they then use as a placeholder/ A ring or a stud?

I used to have a nose piercing, now no longer do even though after several years the indentation where the hole is remains, thankfully it is tiny. When I had it done there wasn't any pain at all, just a little eye watering from having the inside of my nose touched. For several days thereafter it was very tender, but I kept bathing it in the solution provided and found that I needed to remove the actual piercing itself and exchange it for one which didn't have a butterfly attachment as that irritated me. It healed very quickly.

LOL I'm with Katy. My eyes started water when reading thedark's post. I also had an upper ear piercing and it never healed, so I let the sucker close. I like my sleep too much and the thing was interrupting my beauty sleep!

the first time i had it done it a gun was used..yes the kind they pierce your ears with lol..i had a post in and my cartlidge is thick and the post sunk in and left a nice lil scar...it never healed...so fast forward years later i went and had it done again..no gun this time needle only needle..and boy did i wanna scream...in fact i almost passed out she gave me a candy and i was fine..out of all my piercings that was the second most painful
i had a hoop put in cause i like them and didnt want to mess with changing it out late on down the line..
fast forward about 8 months just started to heal and wouldnt you know it i had to take it out cause my boss showed up from out of state..couple  hours later clock out and the blasted thing wouldnt take the hoop!! grrs but at least i know longer have that nasty scar from the first one...i dont know why but the second piercing got rid of it :)

This is one peircing I would never be able to handle.  I cant stand any in my nose.
I am constantly using Ary saline gel, to just keep any build up clear.  Thus I will happily do without
The idea of a corkscrew type in my nose just gives me the hebbie jeebies.

you are one brave cookie! The thought of what it would do to my eyes (even for a few seconds) would never permit me to do it.

Eugh...

Mine was a total ass pain.

It hurts like a bitch, and, god-forbid you get a cold while it's healing; you'll want to die.

But, I love mine now! Make sure that when they give you a replacement, to not have the L shape bent too tightly. They did that to me once, and when I took it out to clean it, I couldn't get it back in!

My daughter had her septum pierced and said it hurt for a few minutes and then nothing. She has had no problems with it except on the rare occasion it gets caught on something and pulled...eekkk
