ORIGINAL: rednicky I mean, seriously, does anyone have a better idea how to right the economy? 1) Abolish the privately-owned Federal Reserve, and it's debt-based currency. Issue government's own, US Treasury Notes, interest-free currency and carefully spend it into the economy on federal infrastructure, defense, and basic safety-net programs; and also lend it to commercial banks at nominal interest rates, as needed, to keep the long term inflation and deflation rates at 0%. 2) No tax on labor (wages and salaries). Abolish the 16th Amendment. Individual earnings of citizens made within our borders would no longer be subject to Federal Income Taxes. 3) Abolish the IRS, and all of it's existing tax-codes. Set up a new tax agency, taxing non-labor income of citizens, and corporations. Tax domestic corporations zero for their first 3 years in business. (No forward tax deductions, or other corporate welfare either.) Then tax 1% of earnings for each additional year in business, up to a max of 10%. Limit tax deductions to documented and audited expenses only. Impose a 10% (of MSRP) import tax on all goods sold in this country that are manufactored by non-citizens. 4) Phase-out Social Security. No SS for new workers. Prior 30 years of workers can option out, or stay in on graduated scale. Older workers within 15 years of retirement are still in. 5) Indoctrinate citizens to save and fend for themselves, which will be a whole lot easier to do with no taxes on labor, or inflation to deal with! 6) Reduce the size of federal government by at least 2% each year for the next 10 years, then 1% per year until the federal government has been reduced to an absolute minimum. 7) Enact a law requiring a balanced federal budget. 8) Make it unlawful to ever again allow private bankers to issue our money.
