Let me reititerate what others have said. It takes LOTS of practice to use a bullwhip. And a cheap bullwhip is something for looks, (hang it on the wall or fireplace) not to use. You will never become proficient using a bullwhip by playing with that thing. I HIGHLY suggest that you find a real expert and get some 'hands on' instruction in the use of this tool. It is perfectly capable of removing flesh from your lady and/or doing real permanent damage.

You COULD however practice with this one and learn how to pop it properly. I recommend that you NOT do this overhand since many people have lost a piece of their ear while trying this. A good instructor is still the best idea and then LOTS of practice in the backyard.

Thanks... I will show her this thread. I guess she'll have basic instruction at the club first, and then she'll have time to decide what to do about this... it's not like we're in a rush and must do it tonight...

That's a good way to be. While all the warnings about being careful are well grounded, once you learn how to use a single tail properly (and it's not rocket science - it's instruction-practice-instruction-practice practice practice), they are a helluva lot of fun to play with.

I've always had the best luck with the overhand technique, bringing it up to chest or eye level, about a foot in front of and to the right (use your dominant side, no pun intended) of my body, and snapping down quickly. Side-to-side leaves more room for error.

It is possible that the whip is too cheap to be cracked effectively. It depends on the material. Is it real leather? However, I have a cheap whip that works just fine.

It is also possible that the whip is too long or too short. It depends on your height and arm span. Get a length of cloth clothesline ($3.00 at Target) and experiment with different lengths before doing any drastic modification to your whip. Practice with the clothesline whips until you get the right length. I've found that the shorter a whip is, the more control I have over it. It's easier to hit the intended target with a two-foot whip than a four-foot whip. If you or your princess are new to whipping, I'd recommend steering clear of that six-foot whip at least until you're comfortable with shorter ones. Like the others said, it's very easy to cause serious injury with a long whip if you are inexperienced. The long whips look great, but the short ones are honestly just as much fun.

If you have trouble finding shorter whips, you can always try making your own with leather strips from a craft or leather store. Most whips that I have seen are braided leather and they're actually very easy to make yourself. Good luck!

Edited to add: Yes, I am a submissive. It's probably better if you don't ask how I know about using whips. I have to leave some mystery for you guys.

It's cheap leather. Princess was disappointed of course. So to do something new, she'll use a riding crop.
