Be careful when ordering products off of E-Bay and Craig's List.  A major surge in stolen retail products is being reported by retailers and law enforcement.  Most of the goods are sold on the Net or at flea markets and swap meets.

"SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Consumer demand for hot new products at huge discounts is fueling organized retail crime, with goods stolen from retailers finding an audience in secondary markets like the web, a retail trade group said.

High on the list are the latest video games or trendiest new handbags that can be easily resold, executives with the National Retail Federation said on Tuesday."

Good information there.  I have stores in malls and you have to be very careful where you park if you are one of the few people going to malls to actually buy something these days.  Criminals are getting more desperate and some are "living off the land"..and you don't want to be eaten by one or more of these predators.  As far as anyone with a business, we are seeing a growing "snatch and run" activity..not many yet but we never really saw this before in our area. (Guess it was more refined simple shoplifting). 3,4,5, people would walk into a store, pretend they are shopping, snatch a bunch of expensive merchandise, they seem to have pretty good taste in that regard, and run into a waiting SUV and head for the highway before the startled salespeople have any idea what just happened to them.

It's getting hard out there..and more dangerous every day.

Yeah, I worked in a store where people would wait until the place was really busy and then do the snatch 'n run with beer from the coolers.
