I am making a rexlace(plastic) flogger and have been thinking about floggers from non traditional mediums...I have made a rubber flogger (from a inner tube) and
I want to try making toys from flexicord and rubber tubes maybe some reflective stuff too
anyone else making something fun?

I have made flogger-like toys out of a variety of materials -- nylon rope, vinyl clothsline, unraveled bungee cords, fine chain and chenille yarn, to name a few -- and have had quite a bit of luck... At least the "feedback" was good from subbie.

Good bullhide or deerskin are still my favorites, though. Top quality leather is just so durable and easy to work with.

Hope this gives you some ideas.

I just attempted a cat of nine made of manilla rope, based on the traditional naval design. I've still got some problems to work out, but I'm hoping on getting it together and working. Also have used the string off many pairs of Hot Topic pants legs (my friend and I don't like said strings so much. So I gave them a new home.) Same problem, still needs a lot of work.

For the nastier of you...

little pieces of well cleaned shattered bird bone (chicken/turkey) tiet into the knots of a cat.
Clothesline, which due to the receding plastic once cut, tends to leave a copper barb....to trim, or not to trim...

I took a plastic carpet runner, cut a section about 4 ft long out of it, cut it into strips while leaving about 8 inches uncut at the bottom, rolled it up and viola! Insta mean ass flogger! LOL Or so the people say who shudder when I pull it out.

Get a string of plastic beads like you put on christmass trees/necklaces (where each bead is connected to the string and not strung through it) and use that to make a flogger. Very very stingy.

Have made one from a piece of 12 braid rope, re-spliced it back in on itself to form a handle and then whipped around, paring back the braids to the whipping, and knotting the ends...
takes about 1/2 hour to do from a 6-10 foot offcut of braid line... works a treat....
