~fr~ Brings to mind a quote from the film A Few Good Men. .."Truth... you can't handle the truth!" Never truer words were spoken and applicable to so much, even profile venues such as CM. It's only human nature to want to be told what what we want to hear, about ourselves and from others about themselves. As another poster above said about profiles..they are "marketing tools", ...advertising. That's all it is when all's said and done. People are flaunting a product on here...themselves. Just like with products advertised in commercials on tv, the benefits, the upside, the positive picture is created in order to make the audience accept, like and want the product. How many would buy a roll of brand name paper towels if somewhere in the commercial they said "oh, btw, x# of trees were cut down in order to make this roll"? And on this venue how many would run in horror from an otherwise great profile if the male or female said in it somewhere "oh, btw I have genital herpes and I stutter."? I'm in agreement, the basics should forthright and honest, but beyond those it's probably the norm to paint yourself in as positive a light as possible and yeh even omit a few of the not so positive things. That's why it's good to ask questions of another your interested in, and whole lot of them.
