That's all it was to be six year ago today, on March 1 six years ago in 2003. Ten days before we happened to log into a website and our profiles touched. A quick note to the other, a question. The reply came here we were; a Saturday morning getting ready for just another first time meeting. A three hour drive north from LA; just another SoCal 'top-down' day.
What it turned out to be was the first day of the rest of OUR life. In many ways the first day of life. Without a doubt the first day of living the definition of love.
We had no expectation; a cynical man refusing to believe he 'believed'; meeting the optimistic woman who believed enough for both of them. Just out to have a good time. Not realizing when they woke up that morning that by the time the sun went down that day neither would ever be alone again.
Here's to Pea Soup Anderson in Beullton; a hand shake, a 'Jack & coke', a 'scotch on the rocks'. Our thanks to all the tourists there on that perfect March 1st day, who took up all the parking spaces so we couldn't stop. To the 'lost' couple who came up the deserted road that "nobody comes up" (per beth) who made us look for a more private place to go. To the 'Kon-Tiki Inn' who had a room that faced the ocean, that we didn't see until the next morning. To 'McClintoks' who served a great 'Santa Maria' BBQ steak.
To the 'birth' of 'Merc & beth' - Six Years today!
