The money hasn't even been let out to contract and already the building of thousands of windmills across he land is generating protests from the native americans who love and honor the land, probably more than most.  What politicans fail to learn is that every action they take, particularly in a hurried manner as the stimulus bill, has those dern "unintended consequences"...akin I guess, to collateral damage.

gosh..how many animals died running into the pipeline.  I thought the moose liked the warmth under the pipeline on the North Slope, and a benefit to eskimos made easy hunting for them and people like Sarah?

kittinSol -> RE: Green jobs feeling the possible wrath of Native Indians..Windmills a danger to "bald eagles"!! (3/1/2009 8:57:08 AM)

Sarah? You mean Moose O'Lini?

FullCircle -> RE: Green jobs feeling the possible wrath of Native Indians..Windmills a danger to "bald eagles"!! (3/1/2009 9:01:04 AM)

You won't be saying that when leaks occur as they will because corrosion is a natural occurrence impossible to mitigate 100%. Then you'll have fish floating in the lakes and what will the price of fish be then?
Birds flying into windmills is scare tactics, noise and the visual aspect are more of a consideration. Birds fly into windows because they are transparent. No one has invented a transparent windmill yet. I'm sure when the bird population falls they'll consider it all due to the windmills rather than the other numerous bad effects of mankind.

Good one, hadn't heart that one before... I think I am single handed making your day kitten... it's gonna be downhill from here..[;)]

Doesn't anybody care about the bald eagles...  :(

MarsBonfire -> RE: Green jobs feeling the possible wrath of Native Indians..Windmills a danger to "bald eagles"!! (3/1/2009 9:24:25 AM)

Yeah, and didn't McCain say that the fish LOVED the oil rigs along the continental shelf? Didn't they LOVE becoming coated with crude sludge?

What's a few birds?

Sir Daddy -> RE: Green jobs feeling the possible wrath of Native Indians..Windmills a danger to "bald eagles"!! (3/1/2009 9:50:53 AM)

Anyone who claims to love the land and yet opposes wind farming has a screw loose.  Boo-friggin'-hoo...  A few birds can and will get smacked out of the air by the turbine blades.  The impact on any bird population would be negligible.  Birds fly into jet engines and I don't see these morons protesting against air travel.  =)

I'm confused.

You mean eskimos were hunting Sarah?

And what was she doing hanging out with moose under the pipeline?

FullCircle -> RE: Green jobs feeling the possible wrath of Native Indians..Windmills a danger to "bald eagles"!! (3/1/2009 11:32:13 AM)

The pipeline is warm apparently although I don't know what would make it warm?

There is clearly something about pipelines in cold climates I'm unfamiliar with since I thought metal felt cold due to its thermal conductivity. Maybe they heat the oil to make it less viscous and transportable???

Two thoughts occured to me when I saw this thread
1)All it took to turn Cory into an enviormentalist was the election of a Democratic Candidate to the Oval Office...
2)I sure hope they don't tear down the tree they hung Benedict Arnold from to make room for one of these dastardly contraptions(for explanation please see Republic of Democracy thread)

One thought occured to me when I saw a pull quote from this thread on CM's Home page:
a) In addition to Ted Kennedy, how many other Demoncrap proponents of large windmill farms oppose same in their own backyard?

Benedict Arnold was not hanged.  He died of natural causes.

If Cory says we hung him,Banshee....thats good enough for me(tongue firmly planted in cheek)

Besides being hung is a natural cause if you live on an island where human sacrifices are made to the gods.

Let us not quibble over such matters.

slvemike4u -> RE: Green jobs feeling the possible wrath of Native Indians..Windmills a danger to "bald eagles"!! (3/1/2009 12:15:42 PM)

I'm not sure your definition of "natural causes" holds water Full Circle ,especially if one winds up the hangee....
