Forgive Me for the personal rant here. It's great that there is now an 'end date' to be out of Iraq. I'm happy for those families who will not have to send their loved one or their loved one will have a shorter deployment because of this decision. For some of us, however, it doesn't matter much. All we did was change over to a different country. Rather than Iraq, it will be Afghanistan. Another desert, another danger. While we're at it, let's not forget places like Korea, Germany, etc. No matter where it is overseas, a year or more deployment is still a year. Believe it or not, a year can seem like an awfully long time. Do Me this one small favor. If you're out there and involved with anyone on any kind of level. Take a mental trip in your mind about all of the things that have happened to you in the last year. The good, the bad, the important and the mundane. Now, imagine what that year would have been like, had that person beside you not been there. So I'll ask you. Does the name of the country really matter all of that much?
