I'm thinking, fluffy, that I'm glad you said something about movies, I'm watching trailers for stuff coming out & there's definitely some interesting flicks on their way: a new Star Trek movie, a 'Land of the Lost' flick with Will Ferrell (who I adore, but I'm sure he annoys plenty), & something that's called Year 1 -- a very silly looking comedy with Jack Black & Michael Cera that I'll prolly skip seeing in the theaters but I prolly will acquire a copy of for my collection, it's just my kinda thing .. . .

I'm thinking that I'm so happy to be living solidly in the golden age of cinema -- yeah, there's a lot of dreck, but there's always a lot of dreck . . . . . . But there's also a lot of truly magnificent 'film' that gets made, nuggets in the wash of muddy water . ......

Actually, we're at the beginning of an even more glorious age, the interactive age of a far more democratized media . . . .. For instance, porn: I'd far rather go to something like XTube or it's brethren & look at & potentially interact with rather 'ordinary' people doing their authentic thing than look at some 'slick', 'glossy' piece of commercial product with all the distance & detachment that goes along with that, relatively speaking . ... .

& I'm thinking rather hubristic thoughts about calling myself an 'interactive textual artist', lol . ... . & I've started thinking about the 'interwebs' as being the 'next frontier' in which we're all 'pioneers', making our way out into the never-been-there-befores . . ... . . With our 'mouths' ever at the ready to 'shoot off' . . .. lol

Okay. I'm also thinking I'm really gonna get off of the comp for a while & do some other stuff; be back . ...

LOL, both DS & fluffy . .. . .

I'm thinking about the 'revival theaters' of the later part of my dissolute youth . .. . . The Nuart & another one, the Fox Venice I wanna say; they played 2 different movies a day, & had these big calendars with super tiny print that showed the schedules for a month or two at a time . . ..

No first run flicks. They would have old movies, foreign movies, obscure & arty & weird titles. Midnight movies. They would have 'film festivals' -- like a run of Fellini flicks, 'bad' movies, or golden era musicals . . ... .

You're absolutely right, fluffy, some movies are gorgeous works of art on the big screen (Tess, & Barry Lyndon jump immediately to mind), but are dull & lethargic on the little screen . . . .

& fluffy, my handy rule of thumb is that if it was made somewhere other than the US, or is otherwise an 'independent film', I'll prolly like it better than 'mainstream Hollywood product' . . .... & all too often when I pay cash for the 'spectaculars' I walk away let down -- but then, once in a while, even Hollywood surprises me with something delightful . . . .. .

ok. What tribe/band? Where's the PowWow? i used to live in Oklahoma and my kids are part Creek (Muscogee). i think the Creek in OK came from Georgia origionally.
