I have a tv in my room but to be honest I rarely watch it. The only time I really do is when I'm stuck to my bedroom for numerous reasons and even then it's simply background noise.

I would say if you've lived without it this long, why bother?

TVs in bedrooms are evil: I hate the vibes they give off. The only way they work is in a luxury hotel bedroom.

Do you plan on watching TV while in bed? Do you have a game-system that you want to play while in bed?

if the answer to both is no... then why?

Also, make sure that you already have cable or satellite running into your bedroom. If you don't, make sure (if you're renting) you can put holes into the floor/wall and run it from somewhere else, or get it installed. If you don't plan on getting it, make sure you get that converter thing for when standard TV signals go digital *shrug*

I won't have one in my bedroom, but I cheat. I take the laptop in there sometimes and watch DVDs in bed.

Or on cold winter nights, I cheat a different way - i set up an air mattress in the living room, stoke up a huge fire in the fireplace, turn down the lights, and  watch DVDs on the big TV until I fall asleep. I love that. So I suppose that's the same thing as having a TV in the bedroom, for a night or two at a time.

Not quite; what you do is like a TV special. When the television resides in the bedroom, it's a completely different (and horrible) lifestyle. TVs accumulate some kind of nasty vibes that are particularly noxious next to a bed. Pouah!

I have one in my bedroom with a built-in tape/cd player that I only use for occaisional afternoon masturbation to some nice bondage/struggle/fuck flicks.
Other than that I just watch the one out here in the living room positioned so I can just glance up from the keyboard and watch if something's interesting.
Damn, maybe he's talking about a TransVestite in his bedroom!

I guess you're right; I hate TVs in bedrooms, too. For pretty much the same reason. Bedrooms are for different kinds of entertainment. But as we have this conversation, and I reflect upon the matter, I find myself admitting that if the fireplace were in my bedroom rather than my living room, the TV would probably be in there too, because that's where I would be spending all my evenings. Hell, i don't do anything else in that bedroom anyway, and don't see that changing any time in this life!

Hmm, I don't really like living rooms. I like to 'live my life' in pretty much one room, so it's quite unlikely that any bedroom of mine will not have my computer and a television to play games on, unless there's not enough room. It's interesting that others feel differently :)

Well you're 35 years old.  I presume you don't have water bongs decorating the dresser and a lava lamp on your nightstand, right?  Your bedroom floor doesn't have empty liquor bottles littering the floor, right?  You wash your sheets regularly, right?  You're not planning on living in your bedroom, and you don't find yourself crying yourself in front of the sickening, blue haze of the t.v. screen every night right?

If you agreed with all of the above statements, than put one in there.

For me the bedroom is for restful intimacy. Television is too distracting and disrupting.  I am one of those people that needs dark and quiet to sleep.  I have never been able to sleep with a T.V. on.  Master on the hand can sleep anywhere, with any noise, anytime.

If  you don't currently have a T.V. in your bedroom I would not put one there now.

My Sweets has a TV in His bedroom.  I hate it.  As soon as we get into the bedroom (that we basically live in), the TV goes on.  I Think that there should only be books and music in there. Especially if you share it with someone.  there are few things that I think should be done in the bedroom.  Reading (because it's quiet, and relaxing), making love (or fucking.. whatever. lol), and sleeping.  That's it.  The TV messes with things.  I know that as soon as I get infront of the damn thing, I don't get away from it.  So I don't want one in my bedroom too.

Just my oppinion.

If you're over 25 and you have lava lamps and band posters in your bedroom, it's time to grow up.  Shit, if you're over 25 and you have lava lamps anywhere in your home besides a storage closet, than you need to do some shopping.

Seconded!

Though i do have a television, it stays out in the living room of my apartment and i have fallen asleep on the couch with it on once or twice, but prefer my own bedroom without one.

Though if i had my own internets, i'd probably cheat, too, and bring in my laptop for a movie.

Yeah slaveboy's right, no fucking lava lamps!
I bet that guy "Dog Chapman" has a lava lamp to go with that bad haircut of his,...what do they call them?

Not any more.  You can use a Slingbox.  Dish Network's latest, the 922, which has a Slingbox integrated into it, will take a TV signal and transmit it over the Internet.  So you can connect it up anywhere, and use a laptop and watch TV on that.
