that was just plain stupid...

Aylee -> RE: A McNuggets "Emergency" (3/4/2009 11:58:18 AM)

Ya know, I can see a four year old being upset because they were promised chicken nuggets after grocery shopping or such, if they were good.  What gets me, is that this was a supposed ADULT throwing a fit!

SteelofUtah -> RE: A McNuggets "Emergency" (3/4/2009 12:11:10 PM)

Do you have any idea how good those little things are?

On a serious note, I think the issue is that they would not refund her money and were wanting her to take a product that she didn't want (A McDouble).

I would not have called the police but I would have asked to speak to the manager, the general manager, and then written the franchise department about the policy which is counter to the "Have it your Way" mentality of McDonalds.

If you read the actual story she was painted as an Ignorant Person, and she might have been, but it seems like they wanted to make someone who was upset about paying for something they didn't want because they were out of somthing.

If you REALLY think about it the Lady was deceived, she asked for a product and even PAID FOR IT, and when she got the product what she ordered was NOT what she received and they didn't care.

They should have informed her that they were out of what she ordered before they let her pay for it if they have a nu refund policy. Apparenly she didn't EAT the burger they did give her she just wanted Nuggets and they said Tough Shit.

Having worked in the Fast Food Industry I would have refunded the money as it was McDonalds Fault this whole thing happened in the forst place. Think about the way an Order is placed and Paid for, McDonalds is in the wrong and she just wanted her money back, ignorant person or not, She deserved a refund.

Steel

I am getting ready to call 911 because the convineance store is out of BBQ Chips.  Now THAT is an emergency!

Asherdelampyr -> RE: A McNuggets "Emergency" (3/4/2009 2:31:14 PM)

and god help them if the fountain drinks are out of coke

Aylee -> RE: A McNuggets "Emergency" (3/4/2009 2:36:39 PM)

Or if their only Diet choice is Diet Pepsi.  Diet Dr. Pepper I can deal with, but having no other choice than Diet Pepsi is just plain WRONG!

Asherdelampyr -> RE: A McNuggets "Emergency" (3/4/2009 2:38:31 PM)

lmao

YourhandMyAss -> RE: A McNuggets "Emergency" (3/4/2009 2:42:10 PM)

On worlds dummest  someone called 911 to report that the submarine sandwhich  shop wouldn't fix an order he placed and had kicked him out of the sub shop, and locked him out, with his subs inside.

Idiots call 911 for the wrong reasons all the time.

But Cali, you have to admit...she sounded like a dumb ass. Who in their right minds calls 9-11 for something like that? It's as Racquelle said, a non-emergency. You don't go to the cops, you go to your lawyer. :D

Steel, it is not that we all think that Micky-Dees was in the right, we just think that she is an ignorant person for calling 911 THREE times over chicken nuggets.  It was a bad handling of the situation all the way around.

YourhandMyAss -> RE: A McNuggets "Emergency" (3/4/2009 4:49:39 PM)

Can I call 911 cause I am out of granola, craving it like a bitch, and not only is there no money to go  get more, I have nobody to take me to get more?

And yeah that's a joke. I am not going to call 911 for granola, unless I am choking on it.

DarkSteven -> RE: A McNuggets "Emergency" (3/4/2009 5:00:24 PM)

The whole thing is sad.

She ordered what she wanted clearly.

McDonald's, which prides itself on its training and customer service, totally screwed her.

She confronted them and they blew her off.

At this point, the idiot calls 911.  She simply should have called management and asked if she should press charges for theft.

ladynlord -> RE: A McNuggets "Emergency" (3/4/2009 5:30:15 PM)

From the Nashville Tn. 9-1-1  records of a call from a sweet little old lady:

Dispatcher:
9-1-1
What is the nature of your emergency?

Caller:
 I' m trying to reach nine eleven but my phone doesn't have an eleven
on it.
Dispatcher:
This
is nine eleven.
Caller:
  I thought you just said it was
nine-one-one
Dispatcher:
Yes, ma'am
nine-one-one and nine-eleven are the same
thing.
Caller:
  Honey, I may be old, but I'm not
stupid.

CarrieO -> RE: A McNuggets "Emergency" (3/4/2009 6:55:43 PM)

Here's a link for the actual calls...  http://www.wpbf.com/cnn-news/18843229/detail.html

Yep, amazing what people consider an emergency.
