Both We and our girl have noticed recently that all of the Dominants we know sleep on the right side (lying on your back in bed your right arm would be at the edge) of the bed. We wondered if this was coincidence or some deep rooted Dominant trait (Yes we're all psych freaks here).
What say you good people?

LOL....yes, never stopped to think about it before, but Master sleeps on the right side and I on the left.

I'm sub and have always slept on the left. My husband...while not my master is definietely dominant in our relationship and sleeps right.
Just a side note...although I'm not sure...I think traditionally in cemetaries husbands are buried on the right and wives on the left also.

Holy crap... When I finally fall asleep I'm on the right side. I always thought it was just because I like facing my clock so that if I wake up I'll have the time right in front of me. But I thought back to when my bed was on the other side of the room and when I had no clock... and I still slept on the same side of the bed.

Weird.

Well, I hate to break the mould, but I sleep on the left side of the bed. The reason is simple. I sleep on My right side. If I sleep on My left it hurts My neck. My girlfriend sleeps beside Me. She wanted the left side of the bed, but I can not face anyone when I sleep. I have to have My back to them, as I am extremely claustrophobic to the point of having very bad panic attacks.

I am not sure if this qualifies as breaking your rule or as an extenuating circumstance....

Edit: I will add, though, if it is worth anything, that I do gravitate to the right side of the bed in My sleep if I am sleeping alone... I also have a peculiar habit of squeezing her to the edge of the bed... heh

I think that still fits the mold so to speak.
It's so weird to have something like this suddenly occur to Us and yet in retrospect it should have been so obvious.
I give credit for this discovery to our girl who made mention of it during casual conversation.

I sleep on the right side of the bed and him on the left (the opposite of almost everyone else), but it has more to do with practicality then anything else. Our bed in set up so that one side is against the wall and the other isn't. I get up earlier so I sleep on the side that won't disturb him when I get up to go to the gym.

When Im alone, I sleep smack dab in the middle of a queen-sized bed surrounded by pillows (high-maintenance sleeper, I).
When we are together, he sleeps on the right side, whether it's in his bed or mine.

Hehe, when I am alone I sleep all sprawled out with a mountain of pillows too, but when I am with another person I sleep all curled up, it's odd

LOL! Yup, it's that way here, too. Master sleeps on the right and I sleep on the left. And I walk on His left. But when at a restaurant, I sit to His right.

hmmmmm too funny... when i was married... for the last 23 years, i slept on the left side... but now that im divorced, and i sleep alone... i sleep on the right... i also didnt find out i am dom until after my divorce

Well for me, not always the right side of the bed. BUT alway in between her and the door. I am always closest to the door.

That is one of those questions where you read it and think "No way".... Then you realise where you sleep yourself.... then you read a lot of these replies... and it makes you wonder.

Always been the Top in every relationship I've been in and the right side of the bed has been MY side of the bed with all three of the primarys I've had over the last 20 or so years!!! Hmmm[:-]
