I lived by myself - caring for my two ums (as silly as that sounds).
The only time i wanted a man in the house was when my cats cornered a confused rat, and killed it in the middle of the night, in the hall. I wanted the man to take the rat out of the house!  As it was, i had to do it, and survived the experience.
I liked having all the bed, and reading for all hours of the day or night. I enjoyed sleeping with my cat. I liked not having to cook if i didn't want to.

Now i am living  - happily - with a (gasp!) man, and we do well together. We don't need to be in each others pocket all the time - thank goddess. He actively encourages my hobbies which are pretty much solitary activites, and allows me time and space to pursue them. Of course any time he wants something, he thinks nothing of calling me - which is as it should be.    We live together well.

... i know no one can speak for every individual but it makes me feel far more secure in having a relationship whilst leaving in seperate households, hopefully the situation being that the reason He likes living on His own is simply that because he likes it and not because it is case of waiting for 'the one'.
Yes, that is very true. Happy bachelors and bachelorettes everywhere.
But, I just want to point out that your headline say "don't want commitment..." ; I do want commitment, as I think most do - I just prefer to have my own place.
