Termyn8or -> Was this a blonde moment ? (3/6/2009 7:43:28 AM)

Last night, amidst plentiful partying supplies we were having a discussion and for the life of me I can't remember exactly how we got on the subject.

I asked "If you use a bidet, do you still wipe ?".

They answered "Of course, you have to dry off".

Not to be outdone I then asked "Well then do you use toilet paper or a towel ?".

The puzzled look on their faces was priceless.

Hey, it might not be that good, but it is original, it was created within the last 24 hours.

I would just like to know where you came up with the conversation with a bidet.  But(t) I would think since you're using a bidet, you would use a hand blowdryer.  :)

I've now been told that the real schmansy ones actually have something like a blow dryer built in. I guess you learn something new every day :-)

Those are Toto brand "washlets" from Japan.  While the export models have English buttons, the Japanese ones have kanji for the various features (wash, bidet, dry, etc.).

I lived in Japan for five years around the time they were first introduced.  There were many foreigners who were taken out to dinner at nice restaurants by their Japanese hosts, and the upscale places always had one of these devices.  The confused foreigners often figured that one of those buttons must be the one to flush the toilet.  Pressing buttons at random, they frequently hit "wash" which caused a little arm to appear from below that shot a stream of water all over them, soaking their clothing and the bathroom floor until they could figure out which button said "stop".  It was always fun to see a fellow Westerner emerge soaking wet at a business dinner; all the locals instantly knew what had happened.

This reminds me of an old joke.

A Westerner sat on a toilet in Japan and saw that the instructions were in Japanese.  Undaunted he unbuckles his pants and proceeds with the task at hand.  Upon completion- he presses the first button and a stream of soapy water cleanses his anus.  He presses the second button and his anus is delicately swabbed with soft toilet paper.  He pushes the third button and runs screaming from the bathroom, blood dripping from his crotch.  Had he been able to read Japanese, he would have realized that the third button was for the automatic tampax remover....

(OK, I'm ducking and running....)

just thinking of a blow drying feature I do not know, I think it would take too long, I mean how long are line ups on normal toilets especially for females, I do not want another reason to have people stay longer
