Status: offline 		Camille I am sorry for that embarassment. Unfortunately if you had grown up in my family, it would have been par for the course. One year, my sister-in-law got a red gel-bra (because she hasn't any), my daughter got leopard print matched set (because they fit her personality) my son got jewel coloured silk boxers ( because they sooo do NOT fit his personality!) my brother got man thong undies (because he was always bitching that he wanted my sister-in-law to wear them and she hates them) my nephew got tiger print silk boxers (he's a tighty whitey guy like his dad ) generic dude got boxers with pickup lines printed all over them (because he has a warped sense of humour like the rest of us)

What can I say, it was the theme for the year. Although, part of X-mas in my house is that everyone gets new socks and undies. They count on it and have threatened mutiny if the tradition ever ends.

Hahaha, no doubt.  Socks however, as an adult, are the most awesome christmas present ever!  No one actually thinks to buy them any other time, and when you get them, you sit there going "Awesome!  I need new socks.  And they're kinda pricey."

Status: offline 		We usually received socks and underwear for the hollydays too but not the fancy kind.  The special occasion designs were purchased on your own money.

It was more confusing than embarrassing.

This past Christmas one niece got the most awesome 1940's peignoir set from her mother, and one niece gave her sister totally amazing stuff from her term at the Sorbonne. I thought it was a little bit weird personally (but the lingerie was all simply beautiful, nothing like the black lace set I got lol).

I haven't had XMas with them since I was a teenager so thinking it over it might just be a family tradition I knew nothing about! Maybe I should get my mother a thong next year??

Oh god. Now I have to blind my mental eye....

Status: offline 		Normally I don't like clothing bought for me since I am very very picky about what I will wear and the kind.


However it is awesome when someone knows you need clothing and you go and pick it out together, and they gift you with the clothing.
