TVMistressHelen -> CM personals: What do you understand "Dominant Trans" to mean? (1/22/2006 10:39:43 AM)

On the CM personal ads page you can select to view only those who are seeking a certain orientation and gender. One of these is "Dominant Trans".

What do you understand this to mean, solely transsexual (by gender reassignment) or both transsexual and transvestite?

I get the impression that some of the women who appear when I set it to view those seeking Dominant Trans take it to mean transsexual.

Because the selection question is somewhat vague, I take "Dominant Trans" to mean both transsexual and transvestite

I read the profile because the pull-down list is fairly vauge.

well, given that i have come across transvestites listed as women, and transexuals listed as men...my take is it will mean whatever the person who checked off the box thinks it means....so assume it means both

In my case Im a Switch Dominant (meaning, usually dominant. My friends have described me as dominant with a masochistic streak).

But as trans, for me really means genderqueer. While biologically female, I neither identify with, want to be either male or female. I would prefer both, honestly. I dont think I would be any happier male than female, so I accept me as I am, but I do not like my assigned gender. I just don't think I would feel any better the other way around. I try for a mid ground, unassigned look. Ive been described as more male than female most times, more female other times.

I tend to walk a fenceline between realities. Hence my signature "Living the dichotomy" an existence I am happy with, but most people can not comprehend, accpet, love or feel comfortable with. Ive been lucky this far to meet people who care for me as who I am, rather than what I am.

It was not always this easy.

i would assume nothing and read the whole profile.
my experience is that when i have asked for more details, if not avail in profile, they are freely given.

trans would be a shortened version of both words, so could be either.

I'd have to go with the "read the profile" people.

The "trans" category here has to cover a fairly broad spectrum, and (ideally) the profile should give the necessary detail to understand who is being sought. If it doesn't, send a polite message asking for clarification.

Something else I've noticed is that when I see female profiles thrown up by the "Seeking Dominant Trans" filter, there's a few profiles who clearly state "No men". Obviously these women take Trans to mean transsexual.

I have had non-penetrational relationships with lesbians and I think many les and bi women haven't even considered a relationship with a transvestite.

Hon, I think you are being too hard on yourself. They're out there. Finding them might be difficult.

Honestly, I think there are quite a few people out there who think TVs are the hottest thing to hit this planet, myself included.

Another thing though, is that there is more to it than just wanting to be with a TV, you two have to match.
