My opinion is that what happened, Athenaofroyalty, is likely a result of a low and insufficient level of communication in your relationships.
Regardless of the titles you use and the roles you are in, these are relationships between adults where mutual informed consent is the foundation -- correct? Therefore you need to realize that adults are human being and taht human beigns are not static they change over time and that means that you must continue to communicate, never assume.
Because when you assume something is going to be ok... look what happened to you.
That doesn't mean that you need to get his permission at the moment but it does mean that you both should have discussed these possibilities a day or two before and then you needed to think seriously about his reactions to this idea of him serving others for your amusement. If you are the owner or the dom and you make a poor decision you must live with the outcome, not just your slave if you have one that is. Remember he can always walk away unless you live in a country where slavery is legal and you acquired him through those legal means...
The entire situation could have been avoided if you took the time to talk to each other and run your fantasies by him to get his reaction. You will still do what you want to do and he will react as he will but at least you could have chosen to make a better decision and avoided your embarrassment.
