I prefer to just answer the question.

What's that sweetie? What am I thinking?

Why I'm thinking how in the dark that hairbrush on the bureau looks just like a hatchet.
And how I just had this brain flash of you screaming hysterically as I hovered over you
in the dead of night whilst flashing a toothy grin and brandishing that very hatchet.

Pleasant dreams sweetie.

i like to turn over and go to sleep. but of course all the men ive encountered want to snuggle and talk . about where they are in life where they've been and where they're going. making me get up and have a cheeseburger since i couldnt  sleep with all that jabbering.

Amen, Peon.

What annoys me is when they ask, "what are you thinking ?", and then won't accept ,"not a thing, I'm flat-lining", for an honest answer. I guess it's a Mars /Venus thang.

This is a kewl thread...but I've had the tables turned on me.  I've been asked "what are you thinking" by guys!

See, the fundamental difference is, as I've said before on a similar thread, that womens' minds never stop thinking, whereas mens' minds do. We take a break from the screeching madhouse every now and then, especially after a good boink.  So, when we respond that we aren't thinking about anything, it may be the truth. When a woman is asked the same question, invasive as it is, if she responds "nothing", it's evasive at best.

I am in the non chatty camp. Trip to the bathroom, glass of water, then sleep. Anything else would annoy the shit out of me.

Unless it's a bowl of ice cream.

I used the "nothing" line because my mind wanders across a wide selection of things and it just landed on "my job"!  Sometimes that doesn't go over well...

I hate when they ask for a divorce after sex.  Of course, it was 5 years after sex that she asked.  Just sayin".

Well hopefully they are thinking 'wow, that was awesome' but I have never asked. So I guess I can't tell you why they do. And besides, what if they are planning tomorrows dinner....do I really want to know that?

I am big on rolling over and falling asleep or getting up and eating something, after hitting the bathroom and having a glass of water.

At worst, I like to talk about the sex and when we can have it again....

Oh jaysus, if only I could meet a woman like you.

What am I usually thinking after having sex?  Something embarrassingly inconsequential.  The last time (which was a while ago, note, Lockit) I was thinking about whether to buy a 24 volt or an 18 volt cordless drill with hammer action.  Some instinct - call it male intuition - told me that I should make something up rather than say that in response to the question "what are you thinking?".

No I fjoeken didn't!  You know I have strict morals regarding fornication, LP, and don't believe in sex before death.

Actually, it was my birthday recently and I went out with my two oldest male friends for a drinkiepoos to celebrate.  The subject of "annoying female habits" came up - and these after-sex questions surfaced as the most aggravating of all.

I also enjoy the extra layers of vunerability and exposure that can come from haveing someone  express what they felt

Yes.

Indeed.

Thank you for reminding me why I find women so bloody frightening sometimes, MzMinx.

Let's stop beating about the bush, THB.  They ask questions like this because they know damned well that they'll utterly ruin our peace by doing so.

As to And besides, what if they are planning tomorrows dinner....do I really want to know that?

If only.  I'd be so chuffed to be able to talk about such an easy subject.

After sex, asking, "What are you thinking?"

Worse still: "How do you see our relationship developing?"

I'm thinking that as long as we keep having sex on a regular basis, then things should develop fine.

I know what you mean. You've just had a right, old fuck......really enjoyed yourself.....and they have to go and spoil it by invading your privacy. We've just exchanged sweat, blood, fluids etc.....why do they need more?.....why can't they just allow us to retreat back into our shells in peace and quiet? What's wrong with these people?
