OP I get what you meant. Yes there are loads of people that enjoy the trappings and decorations.

As with any preference it takes a bit of looking and a bit of patience before finding what you seek.

It is out there though, just keep looking but also try to enjoy what you encounter along the way.

Um, I'm a "goth" and my wardrobe is made up of leather, lace, corsets, platform high heel boots, fishnet stockings, pvc, corsets (always lace up your boots BEFORE you lace your corset), flowing skirts, sheer gowns, waste cinchers, you name it. So for me, that isn't dressing up, it is just getting street legal (not naked).

There are a lot of Ren Faire people that also wear 'costume' most of the time and to them it also isn't dressing up, it's just what is in their closets.

so when doing your interest search, you might want to READ the profiles that come up because, for them, it might not be dressing for pleasure but just everyday clothes.

I never liked corsets, not a big fan of lingerie.

I do consider myself to be a practitioner of "hoity-toity" bdsm.

I once covered a sub in foie gras before knocking it off with my piss.
It turned out to be a horrid lapse in judgment.

TY SylvereApleanan for reading the OP's post correctly. As you do, I believe she is refering to High Protocol pagentry style situations. These type of events are few and far between but do come around once in a while. They do not precude "play"as some of the folks here seem to think. In fact the play is often hotter.

I haven't read all the comments... stopped reading when they start getting snippy...

I had no specific interest in corsets, masks, or what could be considered device bondage, but I set my limits at consequences rather than things or activities, so I had no opposition to those things.

Master is happiest when I am wearing an underbust corset, cat suit, thigh-high bondage boots, bondage mittens, respirator, and rope breast bondage. I believe He has some pics on His profile... He introduced me to a lot of these devices and I am so happy that He has! yummmy!

Instead of looking for someone with those specific interests, why not look for someone with a shared relationship goal who is willing to be introduced to these things?

A FETISH is when someone uses a specific thing in order to obtain sexual arousal and/or gratification. Corsets, maks, etc ARE bdsm as in bondage or often referred to as device bondage. My Master uses them as bondage not as an object for sexual arousal or gratification. No fetish. There IS a BD in bdsm for crissakes.

OP pageantry or costumery or whatever you or anyone else wants to call it is FUN. Sadly there is some negative spin on it from porn movies (where the costumery just wasn't up to the level it should have been and/or leaned to heavy on stereotypes). The Rubber crowd is big on presentation, as are parts of the leather crowd, the Ren/SCA crowd, a the culture kink crowds.
Then the is the Pony crowd and the Pet Crowd, which include masks and sometimes corsets.

Corset in particular has become a heavily weighted word with its inclusion in so many aspects of BDSM.

There were tonnes of people in corsets, some in masks and some in both.

I love to be in corsets, I like the idea of masks but I really detest stuff touching my face.

I would not say your idea is any fancier tho. That is kind of elitest and is going to irriate the hell out of some people here.

Some would say you just like to play dress up but not actually partake in real BDSM lol so careful how you word things.

Hmmm.... I don't like masks, they don't work well with glasses. As for corsets, I own 23 of them, in leather, rubber, brocade, and cotton. However... I take them off to play. A friend of mine once told me that some people are into bdsm for the fashion, and some to play. The difference is that some people never take off the fancies.

Personally, I like the corsets and thongs and boots and fuck-me heels and all the stuff that emphasizes the submissive's body at times. While there is nothing quite like having a submissive naked at your feet, sometimes it is how that nudity is framed and displayed that makes what's already visually appealing even more so.

There is something deliciously sadistic about having a submissive bent over, ass in the air, having just a bit of trouble breathing because of her corset and then add to those difficulties by beginning to strike that well-rounded ass with a crop/flogger/cane.
