I'm weighing in with DR too. Scant can be good (scantily dressed ladies) or bad (scant pickings at the dinner table).

Or scant chance that this person knows that typing in caps is equal to yelling at us.

Yes, we all know what was really ment, but it's much more fun to respond to what was said, not what was ment

Scantilly Lace and a pretty face . . .

It is aso the way you measure the meter in poetry:

With scantion

It's hardly slangy...

skimp: work hastily or carelessly; deal with inadequately and superficially limit in quality or quantity

stint: supply sparingly and with restricted quantities; "sting with the allowance"

light: less than the correct or legal or full amount often deliberately so; "a light pound"; "a scant cup of sugar"; "regularly gives short weight"

wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn

Main Entry: scant
Pronunciation: 'skant
Function: adjective
Etymology: Middle English, from Old Norse skamt, neuter of skammr short

1 dialect a : excessively frugal b : not prodigal : CHARY

2 a : barely or scarcely sufficient; especially : not quite coming up to a stated measure b : lacking in amplitude or quantity

3 : having a small or insufficient supply <he's fat, and scant of breath -- Shakespeare>

synonym see MEAGER

This has been one of the 'funnest' threads.

Now to find a girl from Chantilly scantily-clad in Chantilly lace covered in Chantilly whipped cream…

(Oh, where is miti when we need a tune?)
(humming) … and a wiggle in her walk, and a giggle in her talk…
