So I am the kinda person who like to plan things WAY FAR IN ADVANCE!!! Asher had asked if I was doing something special for my Birthday again this Year. It started the Gears Going and led to me trying to be as fiscally responsible for everyone as I can knowing that Dough is Tight and Come October who knows if they will have thier affairs in order. I figure if everyone puts a 20 a pay period away by the time Late October rolls around there will be more than enough funds to go around.

The Party is not the Topic of this thread however, After the way things went last year I figured I would start making contacts as early as possible to maybe make a friend here or there where I might get Group Rate Rooms. My Dilema comes when I feel the need to make it clear that we are a fun loving people and that we might be found going through the lobby with Fetish Gear on or Wrapped in Leather. I Make it clear that we would respect all decency laws and as Vegas is Sin City I figure no issue.

Here is what I have been told so far. First EVERYONE said we were welcome. BUT that due to the nature of our activities that it is policy to charge additional for unexpected mishaps. This is what I was told by two not so well known Hotels in Vegas. Apparently they are well aware of What It Is That We Do, because they have had to replace the following: (Per a Conversation with a Motel Manager who's reviews were Up and Down)

Beds - Hacksaws and Broken Frames were mentioned
Bathroom Sinks - Before the water could be shut off it flooded 6 rooms
A/C Units - Apparently not as sturdy as one would think
TV's - I'll explain this one later on
Chairs in the room - Apparently the need Max Capasity 1 Signs

The TV discussion had me rolling on the floor, Apparently a Leather/Fetish Group rented several rooms and rewired the TV's in the rooms to work with DVD Players (Apparently these were old TV's and did not have those inputs) the group went to Radio Shack and purchased adapters that would allow them to screen these movies. Apparently they hooked them up wrong and Blew the Screen in all the rooms, He couldn't explain it and for the life of me I could not see how it was possible but they ruined nearly a whole floors worth of TV's trying to watch thier movies.

So I wonder if anyone else has tried to Organize things like this? I also wonder if you think it is important that the Hotel Understand you are Kinky? I doubt the one Last Year did that is until we went to the Green Door and were all Dressed like the slut puppies we were planning on being.

And finally any advice you could give me on getting special rates that actually make it cheaper, because I want people to be able to come at an affordable rate and get a place that is clean and accomodating and not something that gives you a Bates Motel Feeling.

Well gee, I would hope people would behave like responsible adults and not damage property. If there is an outside place to get kinky - all the more reason. I can't say I could offer more of a suggestion outside of just contacting places with somewhat reasonable rates and asking if they offer group rates - without a discussion of what sort of group other than...well...you could say it's special interest group composed of people who have met online. That doesn't disclose too much and is fairly honest. And if it's October...all the better - early Halloween celebration! :D

though this reply isn't about hotels and kinky gatherings however i've covered bands who performed at kinky events in different venues around town.

yes, there are more restrictions placed on kinky events than the nilla functions by owners/managers. at one recent, there was no nudity allowed inside/outside the club - costumes/fetish clothing is allowed but if a woman wants to go topless, she must have something covering her breasts, no acts/displays of sexual deviance outside the venue, etc. plus speaking to the Hostess/Mistress of the event, she had to pay a higher rental fee than usual for her parties (which is why she only holds one every two to three months).

i've seen managers/owners call the police whenever there are fights between regular bar patrons and kinky party goers. there are a few places around Chicago that welcome kinksters however it has to be a late hour (10 or 11p and out by 2 or 4a depending on the place). on the flipside there are places that refuse if there's any trouble during the event.

I think the manager with the television tale was pulling your leg to charge you a premium. While I can certainly understand a hotel charging a guest for any actual damage done to a room I can't see charging a premium for damage that might occur.

I know a lady who works in hotel management. It is their business's policy to NOT allow BDSM groups to rent rooms at what they consider their family hotels. For those in Vegas, Atlantic City or other adult locations, they require a substantial deposit for damages. They also reserve the right to kick the folks out if other guests are impacted or complain.

To them, it's protecting their core business.

That's just the manager throwing up a barrier to make sure he has an understanding with the customer. People throwing parties at hotels, where somehow alcohol always flows freely, tend to make godawful messes - it is unbelievable what guests do in hotels in general, probably something to do with "it ain't mine so it don't matter".

There are some gay hotels in residential areas in uptown Manhattan that will be happy to cater for you, perhaps that could be a fun alternative. Just don't complain if the whipping down the hall keeps you awake, as has happened to me when American Express by mistake put me in one.

Yeah there is a Gay Male resort in Vegas that I have yet to call because most of the reviews made it look skeevy I was planning on making a trip down there in July to look over a few of the places I was looking into. It called the Blue Moon Gay Male Resort. I figured they would be more open to us being there but I don't know if thay actually have a No Female Policy like I said I have not called yet. I wouldn't mind staying in a Gay Hotel if we were welcomed and got a great rate I bring my sex partner with me so no one loses except for the Hotel Guests who have to deal with Breeders at thier Party Paradise.

As for the Extra Charges I think it is pretty common of the Three I contacted Yesterday, two said it was customary to charge an Additional Service Fee to groups with a Higher Likelyhood of Damage or Issue. That by my telling them up front that we were Kink Plus the rates would usually be higher and since I wasn't making a reservation then the Manager with the TV and Bed and Destroyed Furniture said, like others have suggested, that I say were are a group of people from the net metting for a get together and they will usually assume we all play WoW or something.

So does anybody know any good tricks to getting extra low room rates?

Just my $0.02 after trying to find a decent room rate for an upcoming vacation - although for a smaller group. I signed up for "fare alerts" on the discount sites so that when an airfare and hotel rate dropped below a certain dollar amount I would get an e-mail. Then I checked the hotels website for specials and compared them to all the discount travel sites (Expedia, etc.) and then after figuring out the lowest posted price called the hotel reservation service and asked what discount they could do for 5 rooms instead of one. They came down $30/per room per night from their lowest net special rate. So managed to get 5 hotel rooms at the Hilton in the middle of Washington DC for less than $80 night including continental breakfast for everyone.

Lots of research and asking lots of questions.

try New Orleans. Even after all the damage and rebuilding and all that, the hotels are cheap, the City is amazing and we, M and i, once rented out an entire B&B with hot tub and breakfasts for a 4 day weekend for about 25 bucks a room. Not only were they fine with nudity in the halls and hot tub and dining room, they had no issue with bruises, screams in the night, or people crawling on all fours.

They even gave us a discount because we rented out the whole space for 4 days.

Vegas may think it is sin city, but it is corporate and bible belt compared to the Big Easy.
