as i never did use this place to introduce myself when i started off, i guess it's fitting that i now use it to say i'm not too comfortable hanging around on a place where people that make genuine contributions are censored and those who are trite and glib are allowed to continue.

misty, here's looking at you, kid. you'll be fine now.

i do wish all of you well.

I'll miss having you here. You're my very favorite person on (and off) these boards.

She isnt the only one who was censored and she isnt the only one who's decided not to come back.
I wonder how many are going to be lost because of the insanity.
It just aint right.

girl4you2 - this news saddens me as does the news of a specific censor. I hope you will reconsider or perhaps just make this a break for now? I know it's a lot to ask with what's been going on. We have shared some difficult times and been brought together under bizarre circumstances. The poison has seeped into so many places. Please know that I wish you well with everything and I mean it sincerely. I hope you will find peace....

Hugs
Katy

I'm sorry to hear this too and I hope you'll keep in touch with your friends here to see if you're conclusions are correct. Perhaps if you check back in a week we'll all be holding hands and singing kumbaya.

I tend to be an optimist and look for reasons that such a seeming inconsistency can only be a temporary anomaly. I'm hoping that the "A team" mods got the weekend off and the B team just hasn't had the right leadership during the unusual events of this past weekend. We'll see this week if that is the case because there is a cancer in our midst that needs to be removed. If it isn't then all this aggravation that you gals put yourself through for the good of the site has just been a waste of time beyond helping one in need. There are alternatives so why stick around just to have a turd rubbed in your face every day?

Don't let <insert name here> run you off. <insert name here> is not worth it. Though I am not around much, I have enjoyed our chats of late; and your presence here will be missed by many.

No one was "censored". And I am disturbed by this.

When other members post the names of others, they are edited out if the real name is not public knowledge. It has been done hundreds of times, if not thousands. And it will remain the policy to do so.

I can assure everyone that there are hundreds of users on these forums that would not want their real name posted, that's why they create user names, or do not share with the general population thier given name.

We also do not allow blatant name calling and flames, it's all in the TOS, that thing that everyone agrees to when becoming a member here.

There are literally thousands of posts here everyday, and we catch as much as we can. Other members also point out issues to us in case they are missed and they are addressed in the manner they need to be.

If you have an issue, and need assistance feel free to contact a moderator on the other side, we all have mail functions on our profiles same as the rest of the members.

While I hate the thought of members leaving because they feel they were in some way wronged, I also cannot approve behavior that is against the site rules/guidelines. I am not aware of any issues you may personally have girl4you2, and I don't recall any of your particular posts being edited or removed. So if you would like to discuss the issue you are having please email me.

For the record, there are no A or B list mods, we all work hard on this site, and there are no "days off".

i never did answer this, and i feel that perhaps i should have.
yes, i was censored, as were others who posted without flaming.
i have not ever named anyone by personal name, although i have had this done by others to me.
at no time have i ever used anything other than my screen name here, nor do i wish my name known by the "thousands" who post here daily.
my "issue" was how good people were beiing treated whilst those who were nefarious were allowed to do as they wished; in other words, my "issue" was ethics. imagine that.

edited to add that nobody ran me off. i left of my own choice weighing my values with those being practiced here.

I'll attest to and agree with everything girl4you2 asserts. I still use, and, to an extent enjoy the site but it's not the same...not as much fun.

the site isn't the same as it used to be; many quality people have indeed left and they are missed. i don't wish to contribute to the discussions when things of substance have been censored in others.

i also have had my given name mentioned on this site repeatedly and had to wait at least a day to have it removed each time after contacting moderators, and that was on a totally monitored board (positive experiences).

Well, you both know how I feel.  There are many who no longer post here.  They added thoughtful insight to discussions.  For various reasons they are no longer here.
Sometimes I feel a bit traitorous for continuing to post here.

I know how you feel, Katy. I feel a bit guilty myself, sometimes. I no longer feel like contributing much to the serious discussions here. Mostly, I confine my posts to the sillier threads in the 'Casual Banter' section.

girl,

this is a ps,

if A/all of us that attempt to make a difference ran off then what is left?

why not stay and continue to attempt to make a difference.
