i had a stupid question, and figured this was where to post it.

Is there a thread anywhere that explains what the ... stuff under the names is all about?

They called me vanilla, and it hurt my feelers [&:] lol

And on a slightly different topic, what is the amount of time that has to pass between posts? I keep getting the message that "you can't post two consecutive messages in such a short amount of time" and I don't get it......

I just don't understand because I am posting on different threads and I am not writing just a word or two (the exception being my post above, but that only required a few words). Do I have to wait 2 minutes between posts or something?

I am not real sure of the amount, but it is around 2 minutes or so...even if it's between threads, boards, posts, etc.

I type all the time with only two fingers, and I am still able to type extreamly fast. Much faster than if I tried to do home row positions.

And one more thing, i had something on ym homepage earlier today that said CHAT REQUEST, it was bloded and in red, like it does when you have a new message, but then as i was looking for somewhere that'd tell me what it meant and clicked (on or around it, not sure by now :/) it disappeared [&o]

If someone could help me out with that one too, that would be fantastic, take care A/all [:D]

Click on the Forum Rankings link that Siamsa posted and it will explain the vanilla thing. The chat request, when you click on it, takes you to a different part of the website. It sends you to a chat room. That's why it disappeared.

I didn't understand what you were talking about yesterday. I guess as not to be left out in the dark, today they are hitting me with it after every post!

Flood control.

Prevents people from posting one post right after another, sort of a breather time. This is very helpful when we get a poster that is spamming the forums.

I thought it was something like that. Maybe if I didn't keep each area open in a different tab and actually clicked between them like a normal person I wouldn't run into as much trouble [:D]

The chat request was a request for a private chat with a collarme member. If you click on it it will take you to a private chat room.

i did click on them, and it did go to a private room, but then the people who sent the request weren't there, even after they sent request after request, it was confusing.

Maybe they just wanted to confuse me [:-] lol

i have another question, sorry [&:]

i added a picture to my profile, but it's not showing (i searched myself and added myself as one of my own admirers...clever, right?...come to think of it, i could've just stuck with plain old searching myself, eh? [&:] lol)

It shows me the picture when i go to the Edit part of my profile, but when i click on myself and view my profile as everyone would, it's not there [&o]

The new journal entry is there now, which is wasn't before, so it looks like my profile changes/updates were approved...will the picture just come later, or since it's not there now it means it was rejected and i need to change it and try again?

Thanks in advance to A/anyone who replies...i promise i won't keep having these stupid questions when i'm here more than a couple of days, i feel like a moron [:(]
