I work, and I expect my Master to work. I won't support anyone else, and I don't expect them to support me. If He can not take care of Himself, He sure the heck can't take care of me, and vice versa.

Yeah I thought the same.. till I was unable to work myself... 5 years later and i'm still pist about not being able to work.

But being a stay at home sub doesn't mean I don't work... good lord.. being a stay at home sub makes me want to be out in the work force even more!!!!

At work... you get up.. you go to work.... you work xhours... you come home.. enjoy the rest of the evening the way you want to.

Stay at home sub... you get up.... you work.. you go to bed.. that's when the work .. SOMETIMES stops.

M/s together.. at work... things get done together.. shared... at home.. and I think that's great.. But then again.. that my own opinion... not everyones

If only either Fox or I made enough money so that one of us didn't have to work ... but that still leaves Tom too.

Actually I'm not working this semester (maybe next) for pay because I'm focused on my dissertations in the mornings. I know that I need time to relax (its something I have to work on frankly) so I schedule that in my afternoons and the evenings are with my family (husband and slave, sometimes friends). So teaching was holding me back in terms of getting my writing done.

And I have felt horrible about it for two reasons. First because I wasn't making money but let's face it, we base our household economy on what Tom and Fox make and my income (cause its so small) is the "savings" or "fun" money we had. Secondly because I'm not getting back energy as I did teaching. Reading and writing is an energy burn for me, it isn't energy getting -- teaching gives me more energy than it takes.

(Note this is my academic writing, not my creative writing).

If Fox or Tom or both could support us beyond fine I'd still want some work like teaching to help me feel connected. I'd feel so alone if I was at home waiting for my slaves. I'd feel used if I was out working while he/she stayed at home I think. Someone give me several tens of thousands of dollars so I can put it to the test please.

I suppose I've been brainwashed by tradition and stereotypes, but as a submissive I would never wanted be the only bread winner. I think being able to provide security really is a very attractive trait in a Dominant. I can't imagine myself or my partner ever being rich enough to have only one person in the workforce because we are both choosing professions which do not pay very well. In a perfect world, I would stay home and clean, cook a five course meal(He hates my cooking so in a perfect world, I'd be a good cook too), and wait for him to come home from a hard day's work in some sort of slinky outfit.

Anway, good luck with that whole being fabulous thing.

Everyone in our House is expected to work, whether dominant or slave, as no one person is expected to support the others financially. Each contribute to the House for communal basics, such as utilities, food, etc.

That's pretty much the way the House of Iron Bear works at this time... Who knows when I get rich and famous, the house will support those in House collar or personal collars of member Frees. (Makes note to tell the IRS and the ATO to fuck off and unfreeze my Zurich Bank Account....)
