Just a general question ..... what type of "container" do you use for your "toy bag?"

Do you use multiple "toy bags," e.g. one for ropes, one for floggers, one for leather bindings, etc.

Your ideas will be greatly appreciated.

I used to use a violin(ce) case I found in the garbage at my apartment building along with a long Fed Ex box, but my toy collection has grown considerably so I use a rolling suitcas that came with a medium size and a small case inside, I seperate things in the 3 cases and use a telescoping artist's tube for crops, canes etc. However, my toy collection has grown to the point that I will need a larger rolling case.

Some folks I know use gun cases, metal & almost indestructable. If you use a gymn or hockey bag, you risk things getting crushed.

for long items, such as spreader bars and canes etc., I have found an expandable plastic tube called "ArtBin" at my local art supply store - is similar to a blueprint tube - has screw on plastic cap and a strap for carrying over the shoulder (no more "are you a pool player?") - very discreet for carrying into a hotel

for the other items, I do ahve multiple bags, but only because all my 'toys' wont fit in one -I have a large bag with wheels on one end - jam packed with various toys (most in their individual ziplock bags), another large bag also jam packed with toys, and am (unfortunately) working up to needing a third bag

one thing I have found to be nice is one of those wide lawyers briefcases (about 6" wide) with the 'flaps' that open on the top - again a very discreet way of carrying toys into a hotel
just my tuppence - hope this helps

I have three bags. One for insertables, lubes etc. so if the cap comes open everything in it is washable. That bag is nylon so I can dump it in the washing machine if a mishap occurs. The second bag hold my leather restraints, small leather toys TENS unit and so on. The last is a bat bag (designed for baseball bats). That one is for my longer leather toys, flails, floggers, leather bat(laughing, well thats appropriate isn't it?) so the leather doesn't get messed up. I never travel with all my toys, so the bags remain fairly light for travel. The rest I keep only at home like my VW which has its own hard plastic case, the really large or delicate toys I dont drag around with me. Sundew

ThorsHammer remember the large toys you carry with you the heavier the bag will be for you to carry. I have heard some doms using a plastic golf bag they use on air planes to transport it. You could mount hooks on it so you can open it up and have every thing ready for it. I also heard of one Dom who has an up right suit case with wheels he can open it up and it is ready for play. I have two size bags one small for easy transport and one large with wheels. When I first started to play I would take every thing with me and it got to hard to carry and I never played with every toy I had. Just carry what you like to play and leave some it at home so you can have one set for travel and one for home use. good luck ScorpioMaster

I used to swear that once I had too many toys to fit in my then-current toybag I'd stop adding them. Now that all of you are laughing at that (knowing of course that the inevitable has occured) I will say that now I am up to one of those nifty soft rolling suitcases with the telescoping handle and all the big pockets on the outside. It holds many (nowehere near all) of my toys, and is easy to cart around. Inside, I keep the medical toys (needles, supplies, TENS unit) in a tupperware container. The singletail, floggers, restraints, etc. live inside, and as long as I pack carefully, they all come out in good shape. The insertables and electrodes have a dedicated outside pocket, as do gags, safety equipment, and odds and ends (snaps, clips, locks, etc.)

Thank you all for your suggestions. I will be passing a Target, Wal-Mart, and a couple of farm supply stores on my way home from a Doctor's appointment tomorrow, I will stop and take a look to see what is available.

Thanks once again.

Hello,

I found a 4ft long hard plastic toolbox at Home Depot which carried everything quite nicely. A locking strap around it and I could check it on airplanes.

Okay, I'm going to pervert a wholesome hobby to serve our hobby!

Into The Wind is a kite store that sells some very discreet kite travel packs that seem to fit the bill very well!

http://www.intothewind.com/cgi-bin/detail.cgi?sql=bag&sort=name

These are soft cases made of heavy polyester, with zippered side pockets and backpack straps. Add a couple of roll up 'Line bags" to keep the small stuff in order, and you are in business!

At up to 70 inches in length, these are perfect for those 'hard to fit' toys.

Hello,

For parties and such I have one large gym bag for my ropes, cuffs, paddles and floggers, as well as my violet wand. (Tube socks cut to form an open tube and hemmed....work great to wrap floggers)

For smaller items such as claws, weights, clamps, keys, small knives, chopsticks, etc.....I use an alligator train case. The compartments keep everything sorted so they can be retrieved easily.

We found last Xmas a padded soft sided wrapping paper bag at Lowes that zippers closed and has two canvas handles for carrying. It has a velcoed closed strip along one side and it is perfect for holding bagged floggers, the other side has all sorts of small snapped pockets for things like clamps, paddles, cuffs etc. For my rope which I have a ton of of I have a seperate trainers bag which I use.

Golly Pete! If I met someone who had to have the rolling luggage rack to get all their stuff up to the room, I think I'd hear my mother calling me and have to leave.

I have a hard shell golf bag that I have modified to carry the majority of my floggers, crops, canes, quirts and other percussion instruments. I cut out a piece of wood that was then screwed to the inside top of the golf case, then screwed eyebolts into the wood. I have a series of about 7 or 8 Snap rings that will hold the toys.

I use a regular gym bag to carry my ropes, cuffs, restraints, needles, blades, candles, extension cords and First Aid kit. (I miss my truck, btw) My wand has its own carry case....

Fortunately..I always have my hands attached...so I am never without a toy.

Depends on my mood and the attire for the evening. I have a modded briefcase, a camera bag, a duffel bag, or an artists canvas bag. Though my short term goal with my partnership severance check is going to be a far better solution. haha. Won't say more on that topic yet till it is completed.

Toy bag?! What bag? LOL I have a plastic rolling cart, with various sized drawers, with desk dividers. No, it doesn't travel well. LOL But I didn't get it for travel. It's perfect. It stores everything. From towells, chains, ropes etc. to smaller things such as clamps, beads, etc. And it rolls, so it can be moved any where. And the top has a lip so you don't have to worry about things rolling off. And in case your interested, I got it at Wal Mart.

Take care,

Hi All,

Once again, thank you all for your suggestions. After my Doctor's appointment, I did stop at Wal-Mart. In the sporting goods section I found several plaxtic cases designed to be used by fishermen ... various sizes and have adjustable compartments. I bought a couple thinking they will work well for clamps and other small items.

I then stopped at a farm store .... what a treasure trove! There I found a great riding crop, needles in sizes ranging from 12 to 22 ga., scapel handles and sterile disposable blades for you edge players, rope and chains of all sizes, leather girth straps, etc., all at a very very reasonable prices! I was like a kid in a candy store!

I still have to purchase a bag of some nature. I was disappointed at the limited offerings at Wal-Mart. However, there is a sports outlet not too far from me. I will check out what they may have. I have great ideas from you all. I'm sure I will find what I am seeking.

Take care .....
Donn
