FelineFae -> my stupidest post yet, brunette for a week. (3/13/2009 12:51:50 AM)

i has to go to court... bleck. and i've made up my mind that i must recolor my hair to be viewed as a good responcible adult type.

i am a natural red head. if left to it's own devices, my hair is naturally the color of a brand new penny, bright copper. but i love coloring it and have gone through most of the rainbow at one time or another.

but now... i must go burnette.

does anyone know a good wash out brand?

FelineFae -> RE: my stupidest post yet, brunette for a week. (3/13/2009 1:06:28 AM)

Lol, after some consideration, this might not be the most stupid, but i still need a chance to laugh at this horrible thing i'm about to do to my hair.
Some people make knock up brunettes, i am not one of them. i accidently got a brown hair once, it wasn't pretty.
But my goal is to look as plain as possilbe, short of wearing Amish duds.

Hello Feline Fae,

If that is the present color, can you afford going to a salon?  A beauty college would be good for saving money but be sure and ask for a junior or senior level student and have an instructor supervise.

lol, my mother was a cosmotologist, i learned a lot from her. i don't trust anyone but me to touch my hair.
my hair is rather pourus from coloring it, so i'm pretty sure i'll have to strip out even a wash out color.
maybe i should consider a wig...
nah, that would be one more thing to worry about in there.

Vendaval -> RE: my stupidest post yet, brunette for a week. (3/13/2009 1:37:54 AM)

Well, sounds like you know what to do then with stripping out and recoloring it.

-sigh- here's hoping i can find the needed supplies in this hayseed junction of highways... i think i'm an hour easy away from the nearest Sally's.

sirsholly -> RE: my stupidest post yet, brunette for a week. (3/13/2009 3:06:27 AM)

you can buy the stuff that washes out with your next shampoo.

eta...but if you use a  semi-permanent color, i would be sure to do a test piece first, just so you are happy with the results

Christinestill -> RE: my stupidest post yet, brunette for a week. (3/13/2009 4:28:39 AM)

i don't think you hair color makes you look irresponsible, etc.  what's wrong with going to court with red hair?  i think it's beautiful and doesn't make me think anything negative when i look at it.  have you thought about just keeping it the way it is?

shorn -> RE: my stupidest post yet, brunette for a week. (3/13/2009 4:35:37 AM)

shorn agrees with Christinestill, your hair is lovely odds are the judge will look well on it.

sirsholly -> RE: my stupidest post yet, brunette for a week. (3/13/2009 4:41:38 AM)

i tend not to agree with Chrissy or Shorn, simply because the op wrote this post in the first place. Fae feels her current hair color is not acceptable for court. Right or wrong is not the issue to me as much as the end result.

If Fae were to leave her hair color as it is and  lose the court case, would she always wonder if the outcome would have been different if she had a more toned down hair color?

Christinestill -> RE: my stupidest post yet, brunette for a week. (3/13/2009 4:51:27 AM)

i'm not saying either choice is right or wrong.  i was just wondering if she'd thought about not changing it and all the possiblilities of how it could turn out with either hair color.  i know that when i'm in a situation that stresses me out, sometimes i'll jump to one decision without fully investigating all the possibilities in an attempt to relieve some stress.  (lol, as you know from cmails holly)

plus, if she feels good in her current hair color, it will show on the stand in her self confidence and her spirit.

just a few thoughts.

SavageFaerie -> RE: my stupidest post yet, brunette for a week. (3/13/2009 5:20:45 AM)

I get bored with mine. Usually when I move I will ask who Im staying with what they think is a good colour and go with it.  Right now its mostly brunette, although I did a colour before the wedding, in my opinion the end result was so not what I wanted.

When its due for another colour I will see what colour is preferred here and change it to please my Adored two.

SylvereApLeanan -> RE: my stupidest post yet, brunette for a week. (3/13/2009 5:34:39 AM)

When I color, I only use permanent types. If you're going to strip it afterward anyway, why not try something like Feria? It's a good brand and gentle on your hair. If you still want semi-perm color, L'Oreal is good stuff. I'm sure they make what you want.

calamitysandra -> RE: my stupidest post yet, brunette for a week. (3/13/2009 7:17:05 AM)

How about a really conservative hairdo for the day instead of putting your hair through a additional cicle of stripping-colouring-stripping-recolouring?

Maybe a firm braid down your back?

Or a headscarf? [:D]

Sandra.. I think that headgear (hats, scarves etc) are not allowed in US courts unless its for religious reasons.

Lynnxz -> RE: my stupidest post yet, brunette for a week. (3/13/2009 8:00:09 AM)

Awe, it's pretty that color, put it up in a neat bun and forget about it.

soul2share -> RE: my stupidest post yet, brunette for a week. (3/13/2009 8:31:04 AM)

I'm with the "leave it like it is" bunch....besides, joke 'em if they can't take a fuck!  (Altho, I'd refrain from saying that to the judge!)

Ooops! Forgot about that. It is no different over here.

In that case, neadt bun or other conservative style is my vote.

PeterJay -> RE: my stupidest post yet, brunette for a week. (3/13/2009 10:17:21 AM)

I can sympathize Feline. My hair is half way down my back. It's about four different shades from blond to brown. I had jury duty earlier in the week & I looked out of place with the other "professional" looking people. My feeling is, it's clean & neat looking when I have it pulled back, so I really don't care what others think.  This is who you are, Feline. Don't change it just to please others!

PeonForHer -> RE: my stupidest post yet, brunette for a week. (3/13/2009 11:23:20 AM)

It's brainless, I know - but people do associate red hair with a fiery temper.  I'd go with Sandra's conservative hairstyle idea - plus a pair of glasses for good measure.  Best of both worlds that way.
