MrRodgers -> Obama is no socialist...we know. (3/15/2009 3:57:18 AM)

Mr. Wharton is quite correct. I have tried to tell people, Obama is NO socialist and will play ball and he is already in the batter's box. He may even hit for the cycle.

If we have ANY socialists in this country they are from the investor class, i.e., govt. ownership of their risk with our money. Isn't capitalism great ?

I can't believe Huckabee said the quote in the article.

Then again, when you believe that evolution didn't happen I guess you can convince yourself of anything.

"The funny thing is, of course, that socialists know that Barack Obama is not one of us. Not only is he not a socialist, he may in fact not even be a liberal."-- Mr. Wharton's opinion.

The funny thing is, of course, that Barack Obama's voting record since he first became an Illinois State Senator proves that he is fact a liberal, a staunch liberal, a staunch left-wing liberal.  Not only is he in fact a liberal, he most likely is in fact also a socialist and perhaps even a Communist or Marxist. I don't know which quote you are referring to, but according to the article, the only things quoted by Huckabee are "The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics may be dead, but the Union of American Socialist Republics is being born." and "Lenin and Stalin would love Obama".

Thank you for one of the most well-written and amusing pieces of political camoflage I've read in a while. I do agree with Mr. Wharton on one thing:

"If Obama is a socialist, then on health care, he's doing a fairly good job of concealing it".

Right on both counts. Liberals always have to hide their agenda.

SpinnerofTales -> RE: Obama is no socialist...we know. (3/15/2009 7:53:23 AM)

After reading all that has been written about Obama in the OP eds in the first two months of his presidency, I have finally been able to put together a cohesive picture of just who our president is. Let's examine what we've learned.

Obama is a communist, socialist, capitalist muslim. He is a political neophyte without the ability to carry out the office of president who is capable of carrying out a secret plan to fundamentally change the nature of the united states. He is a man dedicated to United States failure in Iraq who intends to leave American troops in that country forever. In the time he's been in office, he's spent too much money to fix the economy on a stimulous plan that doesn't spend enough money to fix the economy. And he is an ultra left wing liberal who is committed to continuing the policies of George W Bush.

Boy..I'm glad we cleared that up. Why do the words "All things to all people" come to mind?

Because he is a chamilion with no self defined agenda  ?
Because he says one thing one day, and does the exact opposite the next ?
Sorry, SoT, couldn't resist.

You forgot to mention he will allow illegal immigrants into the country to shore up his vote in the next election.[8|]

MissJanice2 -> RE: Obama is no socialist...we know. (3/15/2009 8:33:00 AM)

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.   We have to remember who got us here, and it was not Obama.  He has just started.
It looks bad.
It was starting to go down before Bush left in shame.
It will take at least three years to get back to America if we can then.
It is not a pleasant time, and instead of bashing the president we need to pull together and try to get ourselves out of this mess.
I am telling you, it is a mess.  I don't watch the news anymore.
I don't believe anyone at this time.

Best Wishes, MJ

Is elaboration a possibility or we we going to continue playing guessing games?

Even though it doesn't look like it at some angles, I feel that a lot of what he is trying to do is push Socialism.
Obviously not his intention, but it sure looks that way.

Then you obviously don't and seek not to understand the meaning of the word.

Yes, the point is all of our leaders are capitalists first. Any concealment is to keep this from the left, not the right. The bankers/investors will not show it, but will LOVE this man what with his guarantee (taxpayers) of the sloth on wall street and all without actually owning them.

If you really do understand this post Obama's healthcare will bring a whole lot more profits than...healthcare. We will ALL have insurance in name but little or no actual coverage.

Again, do you truly understand the meaning of socialism ? I think not. It is govt. ownership (actual ownership, top down) of the means of production. Obama espouses nothing of the kind.

shannie -> RE: Obama is no socialist...we know. (3/15/2009 10:39:44 AM)

Yeah, I remember Hillary Clinton's plan for so-called "socialized medicine."  It primarily involved forcing the citizenry to buy corporate health insurance.  These people are not "liberals," any more than the Bush administration was "conservative." They're all globalists and corporate hacks.

Get a grip. The last 8 years has been big govt., deficit spending, nation building, prescription covering republican...liberalism.

Like the likely models in England and Canada? Like Hillarycare?
