I found this to be very useful (and more accurate) than believing what is on either an airline website or departure/arrival displays in an airport
Send a text message to 466453. Indicate the 2 letter airline identifier (e.g. AA for American) and the flight number. You will receive a response very quickly updating your arrival/departure times and gate info.
I've used it hundreds of times and have never been disappointed. On a flight into Memphis, we sat on the taxiway for a bit waiting for a jetramp to open. I sent a text to check on my connecting flight and received an almost-immediate response. My seatmates noticed and wanted details for their flights so I shared the info. Pretty soon we had an aircraft full of people texting FlightStats LOL.
