Risking the anger of all the free spirits here - as far as stereotypes go, I'm going for geek. This does not mean that there's something wrong with working out or with wearing tight sporty shorts, and it does not mean that I'd prefer a computer-fondling idiot to a smart goodlooking guy. It just means that when I say 'all my base are belong to you' I would like him to go 'aww' instead of giving me the odd look with the one eyebrow raised upwards.

And he has to know what woot means. I don't even mind being a gaming or programming widow, but when it is time for physical action, I want him to at least be able to keep up with me... and i don't just mean in hand coded php speed code competitions.

Equations! You're such a geek! ;-)

@ OP
Each kind of person has their pros and cons. But, it might surprise you how many pretty boys (classic jock ST) actually have brains and how many computer gamers (classic geek ST) actually don't. In the end, I think it's best we all be ourselves.

I'm both a geek and a jock, and I rather like guys who are both, too, regardless of their BDSM orientation. [:D]

Would you call my Master a geek because he holds 2 masters degrees and an MBA?  If so then condiser Master also wrestled, played football and was in the Army.  I would not call my Master a geek, at least not how i understand the term.

I view men as .....well, just men. My preference is for the dom I've got and I haven't the FIRST idea what kind of dom he is apart from *efficient*......lol

Interesting thought though, with people relating their dom's exam successes, I've known M for nearly 10 yrs and haven't a clue what his are and he would be unlikely to know mine, either. No idea what sports he likes, what his political persuasions are, either.

Dear GOD...we could be incompatable and I'd be (blissfully) unaware!!!!....lol

Zechriel -> RE: geek vs jock (3/17/2009 6:03:10 PM)

Good evening!
I think I would just say stay way from stereotypes, especially when doing it to yourself. If I were to get in your mindset, I would have to say that when I first met Daddy, he was your typical, gentle little old man that lived next door. How could he EVER have any kink?? Boy was I wrong, cause the more we talked the more I loved him, the more I loved him ,the more I put him first before me. Just gotta see past first impressions or any impression for that matter.
I think if Daddy were to stereotype me, it would not be jock or geek-more like that goth group that hung out in back of the band building-just more grown up. Now pair that with the gentle little old man and see what we look like together! ROFL Learn to think outside reality. Good luck!
Love,
Zechriel [sm=couple.gif]

You see, D&D became one of my hard limits after my marriage ended.  :>
While I've just recently started learning about football, I find that more engaging than D&D as my brain's always doing its thing (I am a geek) and I can multitask, thus eyeing the jocks and even understanding a play or several.  Lol!
As to the OP, I think that is such an oversimplification of, to your intent, males.

unfaithed -> RE: geek vs jock (3/17/2009 7:56:36 PM)

If I were, like, a cheerleading submissive, I'd totally go for the Jock Doms, no way I could be seen with those Geeky Doms - they've totally got pocket rocket protectors! How lame!

ChelseaNY -> RE: geek vs jock (3/18/2009 4:13:37 PM)

I have dated some gorgeous men who some probably thought way out of my league lol, and i have dated some guys who were quite geeky (one was a grandmaster chess player).  I have quite quirky tastes, so it is just something about the guy that kind of grabs my interest.  Not how they look.
