Steel, I honestly swear that my music has saved my sanity more times than I can count. Funny thing is, I'm standing here bopping along to my music right now and was thinking of starting a thread almost exactly like this. I did some research and found that listening to music stimulates the brain in the same area as our emotions which is why some music can really affect us, especially if we "tag" that music with certain memories. Right now, I have some 80's Australian stuff (Icehouse with Iva Davies) going that soothes me while I dance to it and brings me back to my wonderful time in Australia. After that, I have some so-called "emo-rock" of Neverending White Lights, a Canadian experimental group on the play list. My entire MP3 player is crammed with my favourites. You can tell my mood instantly by what music I'm listening to!
