Ok, so I accomplished my first foray into the real world. Went to the masquerade ball, did the schoolgirl thing, looked ridiculous (haha) coz everyone was in skimpy black things (oh wait, there was one fully clothed leopard slinking his way around the crowd). Didnt really care if I looked ridiculous coz I had fun dressing up and not a soul knew me! Couldn't figure out who was with who and if it was Ok to talk to someone with out pissing someone else off, but the music was great so I danced with myself. Ran out before the lights came up and ate an entire box of entenmanns raspberry danish when i got home. Does this scenario sound familiar to any one? Gosh, I hope so. Otherwise I'll never lose that big "L" on my forehead. Please share, girlfriends..... [:D] CT

I wore my new red/black leather corsett with a black skirt, and looooooved it. I did see the crawling kitty, and unfortunately didn't get to talk to him (very sweet gentleman) until the sunday after. I too was confused about who was with whom, and that was tough, so I danced with 3 friends I knew there, and had a great time. I'm sorry, don't remember the school girl, but honestly I was busy checking out the men with bare bottoms or in shiny things who looked very hot. [:)] M

Nope, never. I would never eat rasberry danishes, you loser. The cheese filled crumb strip is what the cool chicks eat. :) I bet you looked adorable. I guarantee there was at least one girl blending in with skimpy black, looking at you and thinking, "Damn, I wish I would have worn something like that so I would be more noticeable." I have only been to small things, so it was not hard to get a basic idea of who was with who. My first few things I went to I was a quiet obsever, a little concerned because I thought there might be all these invisible lines I may inadvertently step over. I quickly figured out it was not that big of a deal though. Also, now I don't feel it is my responsibility to know who is "off limits" to talk with beyond basic chit chat -- it is their job to inform me.

I know about the cheese filled ones, which are much better, but the 24-hour store/gas station I stopped at sadly only had the raspberry ones. Oy vey.......
