Ok, so I picked my daughter up from tattoo school on Saturday -- and on Friday night, for graduation, she did a -gorgeous- piece on me. I'd asked her to design an Eye of Horus/Eye of Ra with a lotus in place of the iris... instead, she created this gorgeous lotus with an Eye of Horus/Ra growing from vines at its center. I originally planned to have it put on my wrist, but what she'd created was so beautiful I didn't want to shrink it to fit my wrist, so I told her to put it on my back, on my spine at the level of the heart chakra. Unfortunately, I hadn't had a tat in a decade, and the intensity of the process had somewhat escaped my memory... and this was my first tat over the spine as well... so I only made it through the outline. She's going to finish coloring it in about 8 weeks. I've got several pieces planned in the interim, including a koi on one arm and a phoenix morph on the other. I also have the 2nd chakra piece planned.... it will be on the spine at the level of the throat chakra -- it will be morning glories, and within them, the seven eyes of Zabaout (the seventh name of God in Hebrew).

For anyone who's interested, here's the picture: Lotus with Eye of Horus/Ra

Very nice!  That reminds me, I need to go get mine touched up...  I keep forgetting because I'm lucky and take ink very very well.  2 years and it's not faded at all hardly since the original.  I'd get more, and my artist keeps hounding me to do more because she loves how my skin takes the ink, but... OUCH!  I was simpering like a baby through the whole thing LOL

Your daughter does good work and that is a gorgeous design. Thank you for sharing and look forward to seeing the full color finished tattoo.
