the biggest problem with the ingrown hairs is easily solved with using a loofa or rough glove while washing...it scrapes the initial ingrown hairs out...but you have to do that evertime you shower.  I learned in nursing school that lifting the shaver is what causes the cuts which might be a factor in the cysts along with the ingrowns. using a scraping motion and not lifting the razor is the key.

You can also find various cremes or gels for minimizing ingrown hairs and razor burns in the drug store aisle with all the shaving items.

I prefer a neat trimmed patch so all the pussy's around my house are neatly trimmed,I might add that a very bushy red one  flips my switch smile..

Have shaved since my early middle teens.  Grew hair for a bit over a year at the behest of a boyfriend.  Hated it.  As soon as I broke it off, I snipped and shaved gleefully then caused a friend to nearly crash her car when I texted her announcing, "The kitty is no longer wearing a fur coat!"

That's the only reason I would be bothered to shave my pussy, because it's true for me, when I am hairless* which is rare* I stay drier and fresher much much longer, than even with a tiny amount of sparse hair.

I actually find the opposite, My older UM and her friends prefer the cleanliness and sanitary conditions a shaven area provide. To each his own.

scbndgsub -> RE: shaving or not.... (3/18/2009 11:38:41 AM)

i started shaving before i found Mistress.  She liked the shaven look and feel so i have kept doing it. i guess if Mistress had not liked it i would have not shaved, but still trimmed.

DesFIP -> RE: shaving or not.... (3/18/2009 2:53:30 PM)

I'm too old and fluffy to be able to bend over and see what I'm doing. Since I tend to cut myself while shaving my legs, which I can see, the idea of shaving something I can't see terrifies me. He's mentioned occasionally about shaving me, which would be fine but hasn't done it.

IME, younger people are more likely to keep their pubic hair trimmed or shaved.  Part of it is from viewing porn, just take a look at the difference between nude photos from the 1970's and present.

Arrrrrrr!  When men were men, and women had bushes!

califsue -> RE: shaving or not.... (3/18/2009 9:19:19 PM)

I didn't shave until about  5 yrs ago. Then I had a vanilla lover and he
shaved me so then I tried to just keep it trimmed. Now....it seems there
are more that want it shaved. So am working on it but I prefer a little and
trimmed rather than completely bald.

No hairy for me [:)] It's what He wants. That's what He gets.

I prefer the unshaven look.  I've surprised a couple of submissives that way that thought that all Doms preferred shaved.

not so easy to shae when you have big balls  just be thankful your a submissive female
for me its a hard limit but still a requirement

RainydayNE -> RE: shaving or not.... (3/19/2009 1:56:06 AM)

sometimes i keep it up, sometimes i don't.
my skin doesn't LIKE shaving, period, and i'd rather grow the hair than have groadie skin.
however, if i could get electrolysis or something, i'd totally go for that, as i'd rather not have hair anywhere but my head.
now that warm weather is coming back and my skin will kind of settle out, i can do it more often, and i certainly plan to =p

BUT at the same time, i dont like the attitude from some people (particularly males) that omgz women have to shave, women should have no hair at all since they're not mammals like men! the attitude that women HAVE to shave and men can flaunt their sweaty hair and deodorant crumbles makes me sick =p haha

this topic gets really heated in (of all places) bellydance. you have people who believe you absolutely MUST because it's typical of arabic culture (these are mostly your cab style chicks) and you have people who think you should do what you want. then you have guys who fly in and say "a man should NEVER be required to shave, he should NEVER be made to fit in with women" -- uh, HELLO -- he's a male bellydancer? he's already trying to fit in with women. =p

BLAH.

anyway, i prefer shaved, and he likes it, so i try to keep it up more consistently than i would've before. (except in the winter. elephant skin is not nice.)

NormalOutside -> RE: shaving or not.... (3/19/2009 2:14:01 AM)

No hair shorter than 30cm allowed in my bedroom, unless it's mine. :)

DearJessicaD -> RE: shaving or not.... (3/19/2009 4:58:36 PM)

I'm in my very early 20's and always wax. I only shave under my arms. Everything else gets waxed.

tartansIutNS -> RE: shaving or not.... (3/19/2009 5:04:38 PM)

i have to wap it all off. Have found epilators are the best method. No mess like with wax at home (as can't afford professional) and no ingrowing hairs or stubble as with shaving. People say it hurts...but i think most of us can deal with a little sting! Also i am lucky enough that my Master keeps things neat and tidy! Hairs in the teeth are never nice [:'(]

bubblesoffun -> RE: shaving or not.... (3/21/2009 1:13:47 AM)

i have shaved ever since i was young i just never enjoy having hair down there.

subboi3382 -> RE: shaving or not.... (3/22/2009 1:57:03 AM)

my Master usually requires i wax or shave

quietcontrary -> RE: shaving or not.... (3/23/2009 9:51:26 AM)

To be honest, I think for me, trimmed close is the best.  No annoying stubble when the hair starts to grow back and no little girlly look, after all, I'm young, but not pre-pubesent.  However, when it comes to legs and armpits, I can't stand hair.  Kinda a double standard, or maybe a social influance.

DefiantFlower -> RE: shaving or not.... (3/23/2009 8:41:48 PM)

For some reason, it squicks me a bit to have it all completely gone. I prefer to at least keep a little triangle on top. But where it counts, I like to keep it nice and smooth. It's just more convenient, clean, and feels better.

Shaving is a bitch though, as are ingrowns, so as soon as I can, I'm definitely getting it lasered off.

Though I can't speak to its efficacy in that particular area, laser hair removal, unfortunately, doesn't always work.
Best wishes,
