bob buys a motorcycle from ted. before he drives off to meet his fiance's family for dinner, bob asks ted how he keeps the chrome so shiny. ted tells him he always coats it in vaseline before it rains.
when bob arrives at his fiance's house, there are dishes everywhere. on the steps, on the couch, on the table, on the floor. she explains that her family has a rule - the person that talks during dinner has to do the dishes, and nobody has talked for a long time.
after finishing dinner, the family and bob sit around and look at each other. nobody says a word. bob decides to test the family's resolve, and walks over and starts to make out with his fiance. no response. things progress, and eventually they end up doing on the table in front of the family. still, nobody says a word.
feeling bolder, bob moves on the the mother, and has his way with her, too. again, noone says a word. as hes finishing up with the mom, thunder rumbles outside. thinking quickly, he grabs a bottle of ketchup and writes "do you have any vaseline" on the table.
"Fine!" says the father "i'll do the damn dishes, just keep away from me!"
