i bought magic shave hoping to get a smoother face since no razors/shaving creams i tried could handle my facial hair. i've tried using magic shave three times and have gotten really poor results with it. The first time i used it as directed. The second time i layed it on really thick. The third time i used a lot of it and kept it on for 20 minutes then wet it down lightly and waited another 5 minutes. That's about 3x more time then it's suposed to be on. All three times i used a plastic spoon to scrap it off and some hair does come off, but there's still a significant amount left behind. Is there something i'm possibly doing wrong or is my facial hair just to thick for this stuff to work? Anyone who's used this stuff to good effect please respond.

Nope you're not doing anything wrong. The stuff just sucks. It's basically the same stuff as Nair, and Nair sucks too. It's just not reliable.

One time I Naired both my legs evenly at the same time. Ten minutes later I toweled them off to find that my left leg was beautifully smooth and my right could have been mistaken for a wooly mammoth.

You could try waxing, but the face is a sensitive area so it's probably not a good idea. If shaving really bothers you, you could pay for laser surgery.

Yeah I tried that same stuff on the nether-regions and it left so much hair I had to shave anyway. And Im not all that hairy either.
I wax now. It's the only way to go in my book. I have uber sensitive skin and have tried it all...

Which kind did you try? They have several different strengths/types. I used the gold label powder before and it worked very well.

i'm using the regular strength cream version (which was the strongest premade one they had). Next time i'm in wallmart i'll pick up the strongest powder version and see how it works.

I've never heard of Magic Shave and have no idea what it is, but I've done every form of hair removal in the book that I could afford (the only thing I haven't done has been electrolysis or laser hair removal...but plan to when I can afford it

If you just want something other than using a razor because you don't like shaving with them, epilation is fantastic! You can get an epilator anywhere, I think walmart would even have them, so you can go look when you look for this magic stuff.

They're basically tweezers, but there's like 20 or so of them on a spinning head, it looks lie an electric shaver actually. It does hurt, but no more painful than waxing, less for me actually. And it makes the hair either thinner or not come back after time. I didn't really buy that sales pitch initially btu having used it regualrly for the past year, I can tell you I noticed the hair being less dense after only 3 months, and it's kept getting better with time.

It can take a fair bit of time to do, however, so that's really the only drawback. But you spent just as much, and possibly more, time with this cream that didn't work, so i think you'd surely have time to epilate if you chose to.

I use Braun SilkEpil, it costs about $100, Canadian and I picked mine up at Sears. It's a great one, many agree...I Googled them before I bought one and Braun was the most highly rated by consumers.

Best luck...hair removal is horrible

Actuall missubbie, I found the epilady to be more torturous after one try to rip some hair out, yes it's rpiping your leg hairs out, than waxing. You could not get me to sit there and rip hairs out 4 by 4 byso many at a time, however I have do and will go to a salan and get waxed.

Magic Shaving Powder comes in a cute little metal can. You mix a couple of tablespoons of the powder with water to make a paste then you apply to the skin that you want to depilate. Wait a couple of minutes then wipe it (and the hair) away.
