All other issues aside, the SA is little more than a brainwashing cult with really good PR.  Our neighbors recently "escaped" from their clutches.  They have to start their lives over with absolutley nothing.

Yeah, a bit off topic but whenever I see the SA mentioned it tends to raise my hackles.  And I don't even know what hackles are!  :D

Well then how do you know when your hackles have been raised...or lowered for that matter? *grins*

OP there have been legitimate concerns regarding toys out of China containing dangerous levels of lead as well as other tainted products. It's really no different than if the products came from another country, safety comes before not doing it for fear of being called racist.

OP...its a national policy change in reaction to the flood of substandard toys lately....not racism. There was a drive up in CT for "untainted" toys for the young ones but it really didnt go well...no one wanted to give up their "good" toys for those who cant afford to buy them.

i actually found the reaction to the lead in toys to be less vehement than the reaction when all the pet food was dangerous....that could be that parents are a lot more exhausted than pet owners...but i did notice that there wasnt the immediate panic in overheard conversations in the aisles of the stores and whatnot when discussing the toys...more of an overall exasperation. *shrugs*
