Oh, that's awful Ms. Flutter!  These people are preying upon our fear of airborne terror and our trust in the institutions standing between us and the terrorists.  There's a distasteful aspect to this crime because of it.

I've never known anyone to check a laptop or ipod. Or an envelope full of cash for that matter. Common sense would suggest not putting temptation in their way.

Whilst I agree to that view (my valuables I always kept in my hand luggage when I went onto the plane) I am still glad they figured them out and hope that as many items as possible get back to their rightful owners...
