nah I don't mind watching sports with a loved one or close friends. (and always root for the opposite team) But since both are lacking at the moment I'll be doing something else just as fun im sure :)

I am actually off to Seattle, so for game time, I will be watching the game in the middle of game time--with the boy.

And my boy's coming to Michigan from Seattle. I looked into getting tickets, as he's a Seahawks fan and it's their first Super Bowl, but $2,500 each for seats in the nosebleed section was a bit more than I was willing to spend.

Instead, we are going to Hooters to watch the game in comfort, while being waited on by pretty young things in scanty costumes.

some things i am passionately against from having them shoved down my throat all my life and, as a grown up, people seem to think that all men are supposed to be in to. i hate stereotyping and sometimes i just can't help myself...sorry to upset the balance of nature here.

A couple of years ago two girlfriends and I were at a hockey game and had a "boytoy" to torment during the game. Hockey has a way of making me really wet -- something about grown men being put into boxes for being bad.

Anyway, we took turns with this guy, sometimes whispering suggestive things in his ear, taking turns sitting in his lap, at once point I had my hand up my skirt (no panties, just thigh high stockings) while on his lap, fingering myself during a 2minute penalty "Just until the guy gets out of the box." The boy had to lick my fingers clean.

Later my girlfriend took her wet panties off in the ladies room and we stuffed them down his pants as a souveneir.

Sporting events can be enjoyable if you have an open mind. If you are a sour puss about everything, you won't ever be invited anywhere. I don't think that guy gave a damn about hockey, but he sure had fun that night.

some things will never change though...and my feelings about sports certainly won't. as for never being invited to go anywhere, it wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit if i was never asked to go to a game...no matter what was offered...not even a squad of naked cheerleaders.

The point was that if you rule out sporting events entirely, you are absolutely limiting your social opportunities. No one says you have to like football to go to a football game. Why do I get the feeling though if you were invited and went, instead of socializing with friends and trying to have a good time you'd say over and over again to anyone around who would listen, "This is a stupid waste of my time."

You need to work hard to improve your attitude. Have you seen the Saturday Night Live skit "Debbie Downer"?

In order to meet people and increase your chances of finding a partner, you have to be fun to be around, open minded and have a positive outlook. Otherwise no one will invite you anywhere, which might be a clue why you were stranded when you did not have a car. Now that you can get around, be careful of your attitude or people still won't invite you around.

It starts with you.

i have not gotten the car as yet, and it needs some minor repairs before i can drive it...as for the continued pressure to change my mind about sports...it will never happen, sorry to be so repetative about this, but it's something i feel very strongly against and it seems i can't express it strongly enough. i just won't go.

concider it a very strong limit.

IF you abhor sports so much, why do you participate in threads about them?

michaelGA -> RE: Are you coming to the SuperBowl? (1/26/2006 8:48:27 PM)

maybe to prove a point...not all men are into this nonsense

stef -> RE: Are you coming to the SuperBowl? (1/26/2006 9:11:38 PM)

Did anyone claim that all men were?

everywhere i go, someone's always asking me about some stupid sporting event or other, it gets annoying. and people wonder why i hate men so much...even if i am one myself...it's because men are expected to know these things. and those who don't are labeled gay...which is also annoying to me.

where is it written that a man MUST either like sports or be gay otherwise?

I know plenty of men that don't enjoy sports. However, they don't find the need to vehemently complain about sports, either.

What public, social events *do* you enjoy? Rock concerts? Dance Clubs? Church? Classes (college, recreational, other)?

when i get the chance, i love to sing at karaokee places...provided someone doesn't do Elvis. (i usually step outside when someone does). i don't do church though...but, let's not go there either.

KatyLied -> RE: Are you coming to the SuperBowl? (1/27/2006 4:42:08 AM)

Oh, it's fun. But you know, the people who aren't so good at it are the ones that make it entertaining.

Hey Katy I have the best recipe for a hot buffalo chicken dip. Very yummy and perfect for Super Bowl parties. Want it?
Food is oh so important.
