Silverbunny -> Wax Play (3/23/2009 3:49:26 PM)

Hello fellow Dommes.

A question for you all.  When doing wax play, what is your favorite method to remove the wax after it has dried?  In particular with male subs, and when there is some hair on the body, removing the wax afterwards can be painful, which is at times fun, but at other times unnecessary.  I find having him soak in a bath afterwards helps the wax come off easier but is usually quite time consuming, so I'm looking for other suggestions.

Depending on how much time I am willing to put into taking it off [hair or no hair] then I will sit and pick it off flake by flake with either a knife, razor blade or some such sharp and shiny implement, or I will get a ball of wire wool and rub it off rapidly and robustly.

I like to use a knife or sometimes  I just pick it off with my nails. Of course a solution to the hair is to shave him first [:D]

He shaves everywhere except his legs...that's where the problem is...I can't help but love to drip wax on his inner thighs...but for the sake of our vanilla lives I don't make him shave his legs.

I guess ideally I'm looking for something less time-consuming than piece by piece removing it with a knife.

Im amazed you can get the stuff off in the bath because wax doesn't respond well to water and on top of that a word of warning... Drains hate wax and its the quickest way to block up your pipes.

Like others here have said, a good sharp knife normally works but if you want the wax just to slide off then you need to rub some massage oil in before you wax him.
Another good one is lanolin candles. The wax appears to set but you can massage it into the skin afterward which is pleasant for the one on the receiving end.

Ice makes it brittle, you may try some type of oil too, or if you are like me you just may enjoy slowly pulling it off.

Lashra -> RE: Wax Play (3/23/2009 4:40:49 PM)

I rub him down with baby oil before we start the wax play, Then when I remove it with a knife it comes off very easy.

I just did some wax play over the weekend and was thinking about this while bending rather uncomfortably to pull the wax off of him. Lanolin? I wonder how hot you can get the pure oil without damaging skin ....

Tenderdom- as I believe he is known on this site as well as the various sites around- makes some awesome waxplay candles.

When they set, they are still soft enough to peel right off- usually in sheets if you get it thick enough... and your skin feels AMAZING afterwards. :D

If you mix more oil with the wax, it will come off in cakes.  A significant increase in oil percentage also lowers the melting point of the wax, turning the scene into more of a sensual massage than a sadism thang.

Also, I strongly recommend pure soy candles.  The oil is safe (and even nutritious) so you can rub it into the skin once you have dripped it, and you get a combo burning sensation and erotic massage.  Putting the bottom on all fours and dripping on the "crown" of the ass crack so wax dribbles along the furrow causes all kinds of yummy noises.  To vary the heat of the soy candles, change the amount of time you wait before starting to drip, so more liquid wax collects at the wick.  A sixteenth of an inch of liquid wax is massage temp, and 3/4 of an inch is hella hot.

LadyPact -> RE: Wax Play (3/23/2009 5:44:25 PM)

LaShara and Lynnxz beat Me to it.  Baby oil is fantastic in assisting with removal.  Personally, I'm they type that will insist on the shaving of body hair, but if it's not your style, just rub him down first and I think you'll like the result.  (So will he, btw, it's very relaxing.)

It is Tenderdom_Atl who makes the best candles.  I buy all of My candles from him and there's no one that I would recommend above him.  I credit him with teaching Me darn near everything I know about the subject.  If you need a link for him, I'll be glad to provide it.

One thing he and I both agree on is our lack of thrill about soy candles.  Some people really enjoy them, but I've never taken to them much.

May I ask why?  Is this a "hemp rope is purer for bondage" kind of thing, or do you have a more practical reason?

LadyPact -> RE: Wax Play (3/23/2009 6:19:38 PM)

LOL.  No.  I just find that I get better results for things like forms and shapes.  Also, it brushes on better should you want to do a canvas, rather than the dripping method. Parrafin also tends to be easier to remove from hair in the first place, if you allow your bottom to have any.

*Shameless plug*

Tenderdom did the 9th picture on my profile with his waxes and candles.

Really nice, Lynnxz!  Those brighter colors look fantastic.

If you ever want to hear a funny story, ask TD about the lump 'o wax about Me.

Lynnxz, i agree with Lady Pact... the pic is awesome as are Your other pics.  Thank You.

130ยบ is when the pain threshold kicks in. On average.

Andalusite -> RE: Wax Play (3/23/2009 10:29:18 PM)

I've applied massage oil before putting the wax on, then flogged it to break it up/remove most of it, then scraped off the rest with a knife (no edge, so I don't have to worry about accidentally cutting), then remove any that's left with my fingernails/a brisk rub with a towel.

LaMistressa -> RE: Wax Play (3/24/2009 1:03:56 AM)

I use baby oil gel on the skin before the wax, and then I use a combination of combs, knives, and "gravel gloves" (rubber gloves with a pebbly finish) to remove the wax. I really like pouring wax on an area, removing it with a comb, and then repeating the process -- the skin gets really sensitive and what starts off as sensual play slowly turns more painful.

That wax stained glass mosaic is amazing!  Was that done with a stencil or free hand painting?
