The images indicate some sort of imbalance. Most accepted theory today is, or accepts the possibilty that the changing of the Earth's magentic poles was due to the rotation of the crust. But this might be something different, as the crust can move and or rotate so can the core. Although no data support the notion that this has ever happened to the Earth, there is no reason it couldn't. There can be a planet with it's magnetic poles at or near it's equator, and IIRC one planet in our solar system is like that. It is not the general rule, but there again, nothing stopping it from happening. Actually even if it happened the effects would be minimal, except using a compass would take on a whole new ideology. I mean if the north magnetic pole winds up in the Sahara desert somewhere, so what, it will have little effect on our lives, except that the compass in your car might not work right. Hell half of them don't anyway. Twould be interesting though, I could see the headlines now - 'The new south pole is in Ireland'. Ship and craft navigators of all type would be faced with a "new math" situation. I would find it fascinating to live through such a time, to do what I do which is to step back and watch people, watch their reactions on all levels, religious, political etc. Bring it on. It's been a boring life. T
