Fantasien -> How long is to long for clamps (3/24/2009 4:17:03 PM)

I wanna know how long is too long to leave on nipple clamps and at which tightness is neccesary?

I can withstand about 15 minutes so far with a full tightness to a 3/4 of the pressure from nipple clamps. But I am worried about damaging nerves?

years ago I read 30 minutes. But do not remeber where I saw that. But it is what I go with. Much depends upon the person though - do they have diabities for example.
Within the 1st 5 minutes I check circulation and check often thereafter and go no longer the the 30 minutes.

I've always heard 20 minutes max and then allowing the blood to come back. Nipples won't regenerate if you damage them.

Depends on the clamps, for instance I've got a pair of medical clamps that clamp down very tightly, the skin between them instantly turns white, even a couple minutes with those is a long time. Also try clover clamps, they are quite a bit nicer than the kind with the screw.

I don't know if nipples regenerate technically or not. I just think mine are like extra tough or something.
Three kids were breast fed and that's like being super-glued to an articulated lorry as Jo Brand would say.....
it's commonly thought to ne 20 minutes I think.
But anyway the best pain is not the pain of being clamped afetr a while because they just get numb...iy's the pain of them coming off.....

I can see there are no hard and fast rules about nipple clamps.

After thinking about it, and all the tissues involved with the nipple, I'd have to say, with a reasonable amount of confidence, about ten minutes short of causing massive amounts of damage from crushed tissues. If it's just sensation that you're looking for, the nipple is a rather small area to create more pain beyond a single clamp.

Just keep in mind, if you want more time in the clamp, the less pressure you'll want. A small amount of pressure over a long period of time can be pretty painful, at least until the nerves get used to it and the brain begins to ignore it.

Your mileage may vary, so experiment with a mind on safety. Start with light pressure over long periods of time, then add pressure with shorter periods of time. You might find a balance.

allow blood to return SLOWLY--

...the 20 minutes are not day after day after day.

In nursing school and all restraints must be checked every 15 minutes for peripheral circulation.  If it's impeding peripheral circulation, it (the restraint) needs to be released and allow the tissue to obtain fresh blood and oxygen.  lol... just thought I'd share.

Got to disagree.

Clover clamps start off at hell level and get worse.

The screw type ones give control as to how tight and for how long, they can be loosened and tightened, for me means i can deal with those for a lot longer.

my own personal experience?  30 minutes saw me in the er after a punishment of nipple clamps, nipples bleeding, needing slight debridement of necrotic tissue.  some can take longer.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I didn't mean nicer as in gentler, I meant nicer as in they don't fall off all the time or pull off easily.
