Sheesh akisha, I am so glad you posted this.  In the UK, no one would bat an eyelid at a man in nail polish and sandals - not even full make up unless he was really OTT on a drag queen outfit.  Is it really a stateside thing?

It's certainly not at all common where i am. The only place i can think of seeing guys wearing nail polish is at Hot Topic. Goths are quite rare... i think it's because it's so damn sunny all the time.

That said, for the past few years my Wife and i have had a ritual- each weekend i paint her nails, and when i'm done, She paints the big toe on my right foot with the same color. I don't really think about it anymore, except every once in a while when someone stares.

Surata -> RE: Toe Nail Polish & Sandals In Public (3/26/2009 7:38:11 PM)

This is nothing.  One of my straight metalhead coworkers routinely paints his fingernails black with pink polkadots just to mess with people.  Even files the tips so they're nice and even.

Vendaval -> RE: Toe Nail Polish & Sandals In Public (3/26/2009 7:54:28 PM)

Whether or not people notice a man wearing fingernail and/or toenail polish has more to do with the location and social setting and whether or not he is wearing sandals.

In a California beach town with a lot of musician types, no one would care.  Lots of guitarists have one hand with short finger nails and the other with long and will put clean polish for strengthening the nails on both.

Lots of Goth/Punk/Metal types will wear dark or metallic nail polish and some eyeliner.  No big deal

I have to say that so far, I am disappointed with most of the posts in this thread.  This person obviously enjoys being humiliated, and being made to do something like this in public is a HUGE turn-on for him.  He thought he would share it, under the mistaken impression that a fetish website forum would understand.  I love reading the boards, but the people here can be the most elitist, condescending, purposefully argumentative people I've seen on any forum.  It wasn't enough to respond with "Not my thing" or to not respond at all. No, instead there are responses like this...

So wait, all the pervy things discussed here on a regular basis are o.k., but a guy in toenail polish, that's just weird? Then later, he adds..

Wow, way to make a newbie feel embarrassed about his kink.   Then, we have condescension for its own sake:

he was "forced."  *YAWN*

Never seen anyone forced to do anything while sporting a humongous hard on.

Is this a new concept to you?  He was "forced" as much as any sub  is ever "forced" to do anything.  If he was willing to go around in toenail polish on his own then he wouldn't have the hard-on to begin with.  Of course we know he wasn't actually "forced."  Someone who has no choice at all is a hostage, not a sub.  I've seen your posts domiguy, and you're pretty smart overall, but here you're just being a jerk.  Sailingbum was too, but at least he was giving his opinion, which was asked for.  You just made a snarky comment with no real input at all.

It's not just the men either.  We have this little gem...

quote:

ORIGINAL: akisha

Not to be trite, but I've seen a few men out in sandals with nail polish.

Talk to a dad that plays dress up with his daughter lol

Talk to a goth boy that wears black polish on both fingernails and toenails.

At gymnastics I saw a man barefoot wearing vibrant blue polish on his toenails. Not really that big a deal I thought.

Sorry if I peed on your fantasy

O.k first off, the impression I get is that you feel as if men in toenail polish is normal, mundane, nothing to feel humiliated about.  You are entitled to that opinion, but if you think that then you are out of touch.  You said you've seen "A few" men wearing toe nail polish.  If it were at all exceptable then you would see a lot more of it.  I've seen "a few" men kiss in public.  And saying "Sorry if I peed on your fantasy" is like saying "Did I wake you?" Of course you knew what you were doing while it was being done.

Sorry if I'm a little ranty, and I have nothing against any of the people here but so often do I see new posters on here get beaten down, first post!  Rather than start another "people on here are so mean" thread, instead I figured I'd point it out as its happening.

kodos to VioletGray, iv been a prick to some folks myself, reading something like that clears the head up a bit on the nature of trolling.

To all the Dommes out there. I had a recent experience where a Domme forced me to wear red toe nail polish and very toe revealing sandals out in public with her the entire day. It was very liberating. Have any other Dommes done this and what is your opinion of it?
Thanks,

There's that word..forced again.

pixidustpet -> RE: Toe Nail Polish & Sandals In Public (3/27/2009 6:45:59 AM)

my late dominant Fallcon had nasty nasty ugly toenails.  so, because it amused me, he let me paint his toenails silver, and i continued to do so the length of our time together.

sometimes he painted mine to match (but i had a separate bottle of polish for his toes cause ewww!) because that made me laugh.  i even painted his toenails when he was in the hospital....

sometimes its an endearment in disguise.  *shrugs*

Andalusite -> RE: Toe Nail Polish & Sandals In Public (3/27/2009 8:53:52 AM)

The thing is, VioletGray, it's about as mundane and needs to be "forced" about as much as being "forced" to wear a necktie to work - no big deal. He's made it pretty clear he likes it and wants it, and the "force" is all about humiliation play, not about it actually being difficult for him.

SteelofUtah -> RE: Toe Nail Polish & Sandals In Public (3/27/2009 9:26:22 AM)

Felling the need to share on this.

**Thinks this could go either way**

I used to paint my Toe Nails. I liked Metalic Purple. I didn't do it to feel sissy, or feminine, but because I thought it looked cool. At the time I was a Tile Mason and always wearing Boots and with the Thinset Water soaking my boots every day my feet got in bad shape so I started taking really good care of them, My then girlfriend was going through Cosmotology School and used my feet to practice Pedicures, and I found that I liked having my toe nails painted.

For a 5 year stretch I used to file Buff and Clear Coat my Finger Nails as well, I liked them looking like Glass and considered it a matter of grooming myself.

Some people see it as degrading or humiliating I saw it as something I liked doing.

I Identify as a D-Type and never once did I question my masculinity while partisipating in this ast.

Funny how this forum has lasted for so long whilst most if not all of the others have run their course and shut down.

There are so many men in every walk of life and sexual kink and preference that take care of their finger and toe nails.  When the boyfriend used to play bass in a band, he took care of his fingernails AT LEAST twice a week as it was essential for him to play comfortably.  Since he's quit his band he's still kept this up.  It's really no different than maintaining your hair (from your head to your toe) for either a man or a woman.

I do believe the OP was referring to something a bit more than maintenance and cleanliness.

I did once have a dominant partner criticize me for wearing chipped toe nail polish as he viewed the attention I gave to my physical appearance to be a reflection on him when we were together.

If you're worried about embarrassment I'll be honest and say I probably wouldn't even notice if a man passed me on the street wearing toe nail polish.  But that's just me and my lack of observation at times.

It is said that you can measure a person by their shoes.  If one has shoes that are cared for and right for where they are and what they are doing, it says something about them.  Many would go on the outfit someone was wearing in business... but back in the 70's I think it was... it was a big deal to look at someone's shoes.  If they didn't care for them or they were dirty or worn, it was said that they didn't pay attention to detail and were sloppy... that kind of thing.

Vendaval -> RE: Toe Nail Polish & Sandals In Public (3/27/2009 1:38:33 PM)

And if their socks don't match or are clashing with the outfit, then they aren't married or living with somebody.  lmao

Where do people get the idea that it's impossible to pee with a hard-on?  Lamsbitch said something like that recently too.  I wonder where that misconception comes from.

From watching men squirm and moan and complain while trying to do so.
Not all plumbing and erector sets are created equal though, so YMMV.

It's not impossible at all, but proper aiming can be difficult to accomplish whilst standing on one's head.

MistressMeltz -> RE: Toe Nail Polish & Sandals In Public (3/31/2009 12:42:16 PM)

My last sub's former Mistress owned a nail salon. She required him to get a pedi once a week. WHen I met him he had already made this a habit. So we went out to dinner and shopping. He wore his sandals, sometimes with clear polish sometimes with red polish. I didnt mind I thought it was amusing.
