Wow... It is a good thing I listened to the whole thing.  About half way through she pissed me off and I was ready to shut her down.  But... she made some statements in the end that made things a bit better for me.  I think you need more than a snipit of her take on things, but on a whole, for me... I doubt her work would be helpful to me.

Hang on to your past loosely.  I do believe in being positive, but I do not believe in thinking positive in all things when it is unrealistic.  I can think positive that I will win a lotto of health and be well every moment of my life and still not be well.  What I can positivily do is accept that my body fails to thrive and make the very best of it.

I can think about the awful that happened in life and not allow it to affect me emotionally.  It is in the emotions that we get into trouble I feel.  If something affects me in a negative way... I didn't get through it and heal and need to revisit it and find a way to deal with it.  I will remember the past without the pain, but I will not allow the past to hurt me any longer.  It is over.  Even if there is something that is still going on in my life that stemmed from that bad thing.. I can find a way to take myself positivily through it realistically.

I choose to be happy... and nothing is going to take me down for long.  I don't have to deny anything, I just have to look at it clearly and decide what is best for me and go that direction.  I will not give bad guys or situations the power to hurt me past the event for too long.  If I do, they win.  I don't look at every new person or situation that reminds me of something bad, to be judged on the past.  I remember the past and the lessons there... but will not blame the current or future persons or situations to be blamed and make me fearful. Fear cannot be a way to defend yourself and have it turn out well.

The best way to leave the past is to fully live in the present and to do that... balance it all.  If any negative emotion is something you feel often... then you need to balance it out.  Like they say... all work and no play is not good for you... well its the same way with emotions.  If things are not balanced and rounded out... forget being happy with it.  Whether in good situations or bad... you can still live in the moment and be happy within it all.  It's all a matter of attitude and how you decide you are going to live.  Free or stuck.

I agree.  Her wording and some of her idea is off., but alot can be said about emotional baggage.

It prevents one from claiming today.   She needs some polish- - all and all- I know alot of people who hold on to the negative and they dotn realize it is harming their happiness.

Oh lord I have an attic full of junk, figuratively speaking.  It is with great difficulty that I attempt to let go of things.  I suppose I make it even more difficult by hiding the truth from myself, so that I don't have to think about it.  Seems that trying to hide it in the back is holding onto it in a pure sense.

yours
