Allright. The sky cant fall. Not when congress told us we were only hours from complete meltdown. Not when there are 12 bail outs. Whoopz. I lost count of how many actual bail outs we had.

Anyhow- I dont know why they think people would be mad if they have no money. Imagine.

We'd have to start bartering again, it would probably be a fairer system as everything valuable would equate to having value rather than me saying "What can I get for this imaginary cow?"

Barter is good. The stores locally are not able to function it the power flickers. Years ago- when I was a cashier- I when the power was out- I could over ride the cash register and make change.

I dont know what city this person is in. The vouchers sound like a mess. Remember the debit cards from Katrina?

I know if I wanted to know- I could get back into disaster planning. Easy to set straight. However- if I did- I likely could not post about it.

I actually was part of disaster planning in the 90s. They do have all types of trainings and oddities. However- this was in the neighboring county. It floored me tho- that even tho it was an official duty of mine to revise and update the county disaster plan; there was date that I could not obtain. Even when asked for it. This was 1997.

Supposedly local banks are strong and there is talk that we may benefit from the screw ups on Wall Street. I have to wonder tho. We expanded malls, hospitals, universities, the library, all of which added debt to the tax payer. Big glorious buildings need cash to be maintained.

I dont doubt that cities will be chaos- 1 bank closing can effect a portion of an area.

The thing is when the debit system is down- debit cards may or may not work. Same with checks en route.
