SirKenin -> US invades Canada (1/26/2006 6:05:01 PM)

I have been preaching this line for a while, but people are too blind to see it... Well, I will preach it again.

People say that the United States will never invade Canada. Canada has too many friends, the USA would suffer severe consequences through the UN as a result, etc.

I hate to tell you people, but that does not mean squat. The United States IS invading Canada, and they are doing it right under our noses. People are just too blind to see it.

Let us face it. Why does a country typically invade another country? Because that country has something they want. What does Canada have? We have two things. We have our natural resources that the US has manipulated us into giving them and we have one more thing... Commerce.

Why mount a full out military action and risk severe consequences when there is another way? The United States already conned us out of our resources, then turning around and selling them back to us at a premium. Now they are taking over our commerce. Why bother with a piece of real estate that they can pretty much use and suck the life out of the way they want anyways? They just need to take over our wealth.

Enter Wal-mart to name just one of many. And now I present to you the latest step in the invasion, the purchase of the Hudson's Bay Company, the oldest retail chain in Canada, dating back to the early settlers. For a measly one billion dollars and change our Canadian dollars are now going to pour into the US economy instead of the Canadian economy (except, of course, for the taxes). The only benefit I see is that a ton of jobs were saved from a company that was going to go under eventually anyways, probably a lot sooner rather than later.

Pretty soon we are going to be trading with USD instead of CAD, mark My words.

Not that it is a huge deal for Me. Money is money to Me, and I do not really care who owns a company. Their prices are crap and I will not shop there. I shop at Wal-"everything made in Chinese sweatshops"-mart before I go to Zellers... [8D] I just wanted to attempt to raise awareness that the USA is invading Canada, there is not a darn thing we can do about it, enjoy your puppet government while you still have one and realize what is happening to your country, if for nothing else for the knowledge.

Incidentally, I typically buy from the small shops. I happen to really like their service and products.

This is a case of put up or shut up. If you refuse to support these Canadian 'institutions', what right do ou have to lament their passing into American hands?

First Woodwards was gone. Then Eaton's. Now slowly the Bay. And soon enough cheap skate Canadians, who can't even collectively support a single decent department store, wil be left with Walmart and Sears.

The prices at Zellars are too high for you?!? This is the Costco mentality at its worst.

Gauge -> RE: US invades Canada (1/26/2006 10:50:25 PM)

You know... I think you are right. In the USA we even have a weekly propaganda television broadcast that is aimed at hating Canada. It is called South Park. It is even in syndication. They even made a South Park movie. A song from that movie, "Blame Canada" was openly biased against your country. I also understand that there is talk of changing the name of Canadian bacon to USA bacon although it is just a rumor right now.

Brilliant post - and typically Canadian. Complain bitterly that Walmart invades our markets; that the Hudson's Bay is purchased by Americans; and what are you doing about this? You're shopping at Walmart. Taking all the benefits of their price rollbacks, and giving nothing back. And you don't shop at the Bay or Zellers. Honest to Christ, how stupid are you? This really takes the cake. And I thought Fangs was a fucking moron.

Now why don't you go vote NDP and then bitch that your taxes are too high.

Idiot!

I *NEVER* shop at Walmart and i buy as much as I can at the Bay. And I would never have pointed out that fuck-wits like you should put up or shut up.

Don't mince words, tell us how you really feel.

FangsNfeet -> RE: US invades Canada (1/27/2006 12:14:04 AM)

And I thought Canada was invading the US.

Look at how many Canadians have immigrated to the USA. When I worked in hospitals, you had 50 percent phillipino, 40 percent Canadian, and the rest where either from the USA or some other country.

Canadians are everywhere. School, Work, TV shows, Bands, Comedy, Wrestling, Base Ball, Hockey, and such. They seem to all be moving to the USA to take over much like the settlers who formed Texas.

It's comming I tell you, the day is comming.

Petruchio -> RE: US invades Canada (1/27/2006 12:32:21 AM)

(innocently) I think Florida is a Canadian provence, isn't it?

Since our admininstration likes to invade where bin Laden isn't, you may see military action yet. What? You don't have weapons of mass destruction? Uh oh, you just moved to the head of the list.

Whilst you're lamenting, we've given away our computing expertise to India. I like Indians, but now we're getting terrible software. Thanks, Microsoft! We taught Japan how to build cars, too. Good job, GM.

But watch out… the Chinese are coming!

(Have I failed to insult anybody?)

Yes, they are. I was just in there yesterday with My girlfriend looking for cleaning supplies and some CD/R's. I have also been shopping in there for Christmas. Their prices are not in line with their competitors. I found you could buy the same products at specialty stores for cheaper. We look at the Bay, another part of the conglomerate, and they are even worse. Sears, their direct competition, has them beat by a mile and offers top notch quality and service to boot.

So yeah, I support the little guy. Perhaps part of it has to do with the fact that I am one of those "little guys" Myself.

Florida will fly the Canadian flag soon enough.. Mark My words. Enough of this snow crap. Look out. We are coming.

We gave up our jet fighters because the USA did not want us to have them. I wonder if we have any nukes we can be talked out of? [;)] Of course, even when we prove we do not they might still bomb us. lol. We will end up having to chase after them with our peeshooters, slingshots and rowboats.

The US outsourced to India because it is cheaper. It keeps more money in their pocket. This is all about the money. Taking over Canadian commerce brings more money. It is all about the money. Save money here, bring more money here. Use it all to drop bombs. [&:]

I do not mind buying from American companies if they offer good value, although I prefer to buy from the little guy. It is no problem to Me (although I have yet to try Starbucks.. Are they any good? I hear they are).

Whooo Hooo!!!!

My Lord, no need to worry about immigration... It says right here that Florida is soon to become part of Canada!! Everything I read on the net is real isn't it my Lord??

SirKenin -> RE: US invades Canada (1/27/2006 3:35:22 PM)

Well let Me see... What else would Canada want besides warm, balmy weather? It is a given. We are coming with our army of peashooters and catapults to take over Florida. You can have the rest of the country. [8D]

I've never tasted them, but I don't drink coffee. The prices people pay, I suspect they're spiked with cocaine.

Funny, I have heard about the steep prices too. That is probably why I have not been there. I wonder what compells people to pay a king's ransom for a coffee? It had better be better than sex.

Sir Kenin, the next time I have a steaming hot cup of Starbucks java on my lap I will stick my dick in it and let you know if it was better than sex.

SirKenin -> RE: US invades Canada (1/28/2006 12:22:37 AM)

lMao.. Ok, sounds good.. But I believe in promoting safe sex, so wear a condom. [;)]

Personally I like Dunkin Donuts much better than Starbucks.
Do they have Dunkin Donuts in Canada or are we hording that too?

Petruchio -> RE: US invades Canada (1/28/2006 10:25:46 AM)

Here's a thought: Let's trade politicians.

In fact, let's ferry them directly over Niagra Falls.

Gee, what a shame if they should have a little accident and slip.
