I have done a lot of online flirting with women that are completely unsuitable for me:

a slave that is married to her husband
a Domme half my age who is looking for sub men no older than 20 years younger than me
a lesbian living outside the US

and several other women that are not fits for me at all.  All of them live outside my state, some outside the country. The flirting is of course nonsexual.

I find that the mutual understanding that this flirting will never lead to anything is liberating.  But there's an extra "kick" from flirting outside the proper boundaries for me.

Any other polyflirtatious folks here that get that extra "kick"?

I consider everyone virtually unattainable to me for one reason or another, which gives me freedom to do exactly as you say.  In fact, although I have no interest in men at all, I find flirting a little with them makes some very uncomfortable.  ...winks at Sir Steven...[;)]

Fellow flirter here! I get a kick out of having my boy say to me, "Miss! You're shameless!"

It's a basic part of human nature and greases the wheels of an otherwise mundane daily routine. Provided people don't cross those unofficial laws of etiquette, it will remain good, harmless fun.

There is a very good friend of Reality's that visits our home frequently, we are outrageous with our flirting and while there is the occasional faux protestation from Reality, he does understand and accept that this is a game between his friend and I that will never be taken to another level. He'll telephone and I'll answer, I'll ask him when he's coming to prostrate himself before me in readiness for some abuse (he's completely vanilla and thinks BDSMers are deviant perverts people need to keep their pets/children away from lol). He'll respond by telling me he'll be right over and his body is mine to do with what I want as he's always wanted a walk on the wild side. The rule is: We ONLY flirt infront of Reality. When we are alone together it's as typical friends and no hint of a flirt.

It wasn't an employee!  Although, I should have thought of that!

I was wearing a necklace that is a small, green, blown-glass bottle.  Where I was standing, the sun was shining on me through the window, and the bottle really stood out against my white shirt.  I was waiting for my friend, and a lady walked in, and said, "that's beautiful, I saw it from outside" and she reached for the bottle, then pulled back her hand, and said, "oh sorry, I don't want to feel your breasts" (meaning she wasn't intending on molesting me), and I put both of my hands on my bewbies and said, "oh that's okay, go ahead, they're very nice."

We talked for a bit about where I got the necklace (local place), and my guy friend walked up about 30 seconds after the whole thing was over.  I told him he really has to show up a few minutes earlier if he wants to see the girl-on-girl stuff!

That's likely a situation where my unofficial rule book would have been thrown outta the window. Usually when I pay another female a compliment they scream loudly "YOU'RE A LESBIAN, I'M NOT INTERESTED!" Perhaps Freud is right and that when I compliment them on their hair I am really thinking of fondling their breasts.

OH YES!!! But usually with the girlies, although, I must claim a crushing on Shadow-tiger!! 

It's flirting, it's fun, it's totally harmless and it's fun to see what people are like that you would be so uncompatible as to drive each other to homicide.
