I know some states still have some weird laws about sex, such as vibrators being illegal in Texas and was wondering if there were any laws that we should be aware of when flying to Florida with our toy box?

I live in Florida and in my community, there are adult shops in my area. Ironically, one is called Bada Bing (think Sopranos) so it not illegal to transport the toys.

I would take the batteries out of the vibrators and make sure they are secure in a nice size cometic case where one cannot see through these items. If you have some floggers, then use a garbage bag and place those items in your regular suitcase.

Welcome to Florida and hope you enjoy your trip.

We have archaic laws... BUT... The sale and possession of sex toys has never been a problem. Felatio, however, is officially illegal. Which is why I boat to Cuba... For cigars and blowjobs.

You'll be fine, assuming your toybox is pretty standard.

Actually, I think the recommendation is to put them in a clear plastic bag, so if the security guys get suspicious, they can open the suitcase and sate their curiosity without pawing all over your sex toys. Also, if there's something you can't stand to lose, don't bring it.

Oh, and no sex toys on the carry-on. This country's got to protect us from evil, flogger wielding terrorists.

Depending on how many toys you want to take, one solution is to pack everything up and send it via UPS or FedEx to your travel destination and not worry about airport security.  I flew to Florida once with my toybag in my checked luggage and there weren't any State Police officers waiting for me when I landed.  However there was a little card telling me that Homeland Security had looked through my suitcase.  While the possession of sex toys may be illegal in some states, I would doubt any law enforcement agency has the time or funding to make those kinds of investigations and arrests palusible.  Homeland Security obviously didn't think a few insertables and clamps were noteworthy.

There are lots of silly laws on the books, but most of them are rarely enforced.  If vibrators were illegal, most of the women in America would be doing prison time.  When I lived in Japan in the mid-1990's vibrators were legal so long as they did not look like a penis.  They had vibrators that looked like cucumbers, bananas, dolphins and everything else you could possibly imagine.

Do follow the suggestion to remove the batteries.  The bomb squad has been called out more than once to disarm an accidentally activated vibrator.

LMAO....

The last time a guard wanted to look in my toy case I advised him that he was far too young to look in the bag.  As he started to pull out my spreader bar and floggers he soon got the idea and placed them back in without really looking very closely.  I think he was really embarrassed that a guy probably older than his dad was kinkier than he was.

Children, what can one do with them!

Cw

Yeah they are silly laws but stuff like this makes me paranoid: http://www.nelaonline.org/attleboro.html Especially when venturing into the bible belt.

Also people have been arrested for selling vibrators in Texas: http://www.dallascriminaldefenselawyerblog.com/2008/10/are_dildos_illegal_in_texas_ag.html

Technically, in New York State, oral, anal and kinky sex is considered deviant sexual behavior and is a crime UNLESS you are married.  Obviously, it's not one of those laws that's enforced but it WAS used in the past to prosecute homosexuals (males and females) though that practice has ended.

There's a great book called "You Can Get Arrested For That" about stupid and outdated laws.  It's super funny and I highly recommend.

DavanKael -> RE: Traveling to Florida (3/30/2009 4:02:23 PM)

I've flown into and out of Florida with sex toys in my luggage.  I wrapped toys in Saran Wrap (Was tempted to vacuum seal them <food savers, they're not just for food anymore! > but would've had to take the vacuum sealer with me to be surethey were sealed on the way back.  Definitely take out the batteries as some have suggested.  I've had those lovely little TSA notes in my luggage saying they've gone through it.  Eh, not jazzed about someone I don't know touching my undies, sex toys, or really anything in intimate proximity to my person but, such are the breaks of the game when flying.
Enjoy your trip!  It's a nice time of year to visit FL.  :>

We have never had a problem but you  have good advice.

Batteries out,. clear bags or containers. You can label them personal sexual toys, I was told by a TSA that makes them think twice about handling them.

Don't bring any thing you could not stand to loose.

Seats upright, fasten your seat belts and enjoy the flight..... I hope you don't get our ex roommate for a flight attendant.. he's a flaming gay sub/bottom who can't stand people.. and he became a flight attendant.. go figure.. call him a stewardess and he will throw you out the door while in flight.. LOL

DefiantFlower -> RE: Traveling to Florida (3/30/2009 9:18:32 PM)

Er...I've flown with various toys in luggage I checked. Like others have said, I'd put em in plastic bags and take the batteries out.

But I was completely unaware fellatio was illegal here! Hahaha... I must be a felon by now..........

Years ago in highschool we went over weird laws in one of my classes, intercourse with a porcupine is also illegal in florida.

Like everyone else has said, batteries out, clear baggies, write sex toys or similar on the baggies.  Florida is a bit of an unusual state as well, in a way it compares to Atlanta/Georgia.  The urban areas are almost all northern transplants, if you drive far enough into the swamp/orange groves you get hicks.  What part of Florida are you visiting?
